The Hot Springs National Park 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin sold out Thursday morning, Those wanting to purchase the three-inch diameter, .999 fine silver collector coin are now being asked by the United States Mint to join a waiting list.
A "Waiting List Notice" is posted on the online product information page for the Hot Springs Coin where the United States Mint states:
"The number of orders we have taken meets the maximum limit for the 2010 America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin™ – Hot Springs National Park Coin. You may still place an order for this product, which will go on a waiting list. If a product becomes available due to an order cancellation, we will fulfill orders from the waiting list on a first-in, first-served basis. We cannot provide information about your position on the waiting list.
When we place your order on the waiting list, we will send you an order receipt. This is not a guarantee that you will receive your order. If we are not able to fulfill your order, you will receive a cancellation or sold-out notification. If you paid by check, you will receive a refund."
Most observers anticipated that the Hot Springs uncirculated coin would sell out, but the length of time it took was a bit of a surprise. A sell out had been looming since its release on April 28 when buyers swarmed to place orders in levels that resulted in expected delays and eventually brought down the Mint’s site. About 19,000 of the allotted 27,000 mintage had sold by 9:00 PM ET on the 28th. The number of orders reached 25,000 by the following Monday, May 2. The pace subsequently slowed significantly when the coin was pulled as the main feature in the Mint’s storefront. By Sunday, May 8, a total of 134 remained and it took until Thursday for those to be claimed.

The price for the coin is $279.95, plus $4.95 for shipping and handling.
The next America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin will be available on May 17 at 12:00 noon ET. The newest collector coin honors Yellowstone National Park which is located mostly within the state of Wyoming. The coin also has a 27,000 mintage limit and is expected to launch at the same $279.95 price.

Didn’t have to. I was searching around Sunday and ended up on the mints websight. I couldn’t believe they were still available. I ordered it that night, the mint shipped it Tuesday, I recieved it Wednesday UPS signature required. What took so long for these to sell out after all the clammer about the bullion version sets.
