An official launch ceremony for the Denali National Park quarter will be held November 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., the United States Mint has confirmed.
Also released are details for a public coin forum the U.S. Mint will host in the evening prior to the ceremony. Both are free and open to the public.
Issued as the fifteenth overall in the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program, the Denali quarter honors the national park and preserve located in Alaska. The coin will actually make its debut into circulation and go on sale at the U.S. Mint ten days earlier on November 5. Examples of products by the Mint filled with Denali quarters are two-roll sets, 100-coin bags and 40-coin rolls.
A typical quarter launch ceremony lasts between 30 and 40 minutes. It will feature entertainment and historical commentary from local dignitaries. Children from nearby schools are often present as well. The event is followed by a coin exchange that is always extremely popular with attendees.
Names of the local, state, or federal officials and representatives who have been invited to attend or speak at the ceremony have not yet been announced. The person named Master of Ceremonies is often a well-known figurehead of the community or from the surrounding area. More details will be released as they become available.

In all and as part of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program, the United States Mint will produce 56 quarters with designs on their reverse that are emblematic of a national park or site in each U.S. state, territory and the District of Columbia. Also in the U.S. Mint’s portfolio are companion five ounce, 99.9% fine bullion and uncirculated America the Beautiful Silver Coins that are duplicates of the quarters. The Mint has not indicated as of this writing when the bullion five ounce piece will launch.
