An ending sales date of December 17, 2012 has been announced by the United States Mint for all 2012-dated commemorative coin and 2011-dated silver medal products. These include the 2012 Star-Spangle Banner commemorative coins, 2012 Infantry Soldier Silver Dollars and 2011 September 11 National Medals.
Buyers have until 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the 17th to purchase these products. They may be ordered through the U.S. Mint website at http://www.usmint.gov/catalog or by calling the bureau’s toll-free number 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468).
Starting sales dates, prices, current sales and mintages for the commemorative coin products are provided in the following table.

Authorizing legislation dictates the selling length for commemorative coins. The Star-Spangled Banner and Infantry Soldier Silver Dollar programs indicated that the U.S. Mint could offer the coins during calendar year 2012 while the September 11 National Medals legislation mandated that none get produced past 2012.
Buyers wishing to order the above products and have them ship prior to the holidays have another date to keep in mind. To ensure delivery in the continental United States by December 25, 2012, orders should be made by December 10, 2012 for standard delivery and December 17, 2012 for expedited delivery.
