The Royal Canadian Mint just introduced an adorable holiday-themed collectible, the 2015 $20 Gingerbread Man Silver Coin.
This release is the latest from the Mint’s series of coins that are in 99.99% pure silver and sold at their legal tender face value of $20. The price includes free ground shipping and there is no tax.
"This finely crafted coin of 99.99% pure silver captures forever the sprightly joy of a holiday classic: the gingerbread man," the Mint describes. "The warm, cozy delight of sweet baked treats is a hallmark of the Canadian winter holidays."
$20 for $20 silver coins are exceptionally popular; credited for a large swell of new Royal Canadian Mint customers. Seventeen other coins have appeared since the series kicked off in 2011, and all but the ones for this year have sold out. Previous holiday-themed coins include those depicting a magical reindeer, Santa, and a festive snowman. Here’s a list of all eighteen coins:

Coin Designs and Specifications
Designed by Chris and Rosina Reid, the reverse or tails side shows the gingerbread man holding a candy cane as he joyfully slides down a snow hill. Inscriptions around the design read: CANADA 2015, FINE SILVER 9999 ARGENT PUR and 20 DOLLARS.
Susanna Blunt’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse or heads side. The likeness of the Queen is surrounded by ELIZABETH II and D G REGINA.

Each coin is placed inside a protective clear pouch that is attached to an illustrated display card complete with specifications and a certificate of authenticity. The card features an image of a gingerbread house in a candy-filled winter wonderland setting.
