The Royal Canadian Mint’s latest bullion coin from its Grey Wolf Series features a howling wolf against an enlarged moon.
Containing 3/4 oz. of .9999 fine silver, the $2 silver coin marks the third annual issue in the program which celebrates wolves.
Encircling the Grey Wolf and over-sized moon are inscriptions of CANADA, 2017, 9999, FINE SILVER, 3/4 OZ, ARGENT PUR.
Obverses offer the traditional portrait of the Queen by Susanna Blunt. Surrounding inscriptions include ELIZABETH II, D G REGINA and 2 DOLLARS for the face value. The effigy appears against a background of radial lines.
Security enhancements include radial lines on both coin sides. For added security against counterfeiting, a micro-engraved maple leaf is lasered on the reverse — below the moon and to the right. Centered within it is the number "17" to denote the coin’s year of issue. The number is visible only under magnification.

I got this coin back in mid December of 2016. Why is an article just coming out? A little late don’t you think? Lol
