First Spouse Gold Coins
The United States Mint has been issuing First Spouse Gold Coins since 2007. The series, authorized by the Presidential $1 Coin Act (Public Law 109-145) which is also responsible for the Presidential dollar series, honors the first ladies of former Presidents with 24-karat gold coin. Each coin has a denomination of $10, and includes one-half troy ounces of gold with a .9999 purity.
