Today, April 17, 2012, the United States Mint started accepting orders for the Chaco Culture National Historical Park Quarters Three-Coin Set. The collectible product is available for $9.95, plus shipping and handling, through the U.S. Mint website at http://catalog.usmint.gov/.
Marking the second of the year and the twelve release in the series of America the Beautiful Quarters Three-Coin Sets which debuted in 2010, the Chaco Culture Quarter Three-Coin Set includes one proof quarter from the San Francisco Mint, one uncirculated quarter from the Philadelphia Mint, and one uncirculated quarter from the Denver Mint.
Prior to 2012, the plastic card holding the three quarters featured a less attractive black and white U.S. Mint branded theme. Beginning in 2012, the cards offer a more appealing scene of the site featured on each of the America the Beautiful Quarters. The latest card includes a description of Chaco Culture National Historical Park, the coin design and a Certificate of Authenticity on the back. All twelve three-coin sets remain available from the U.S. Mint, with those issued in 2010 and 2011 at a bit higher price, $14.95 each.
The sets are a fairly popular numismatic product. The following table provides the latest unit sales as of Monday, April 16, 2012.
