In the final week of August 2013, the 2012 United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Proof Set became unavailable. The US Mint pulled the set from its online store and placed its product page in the "No Longer Available" section of the website with the words "sold out" tagged to it.
Released on Jan. 17, 2012, the five-coin clad set includes proof quality versions of the 2012 America the Beautiful Quarters depicting:
- El Yunque National Forest of Puerto Rico,
- Chaco Culture National Historical Park of New Mexico,
- Acadia National Park of Maine,
- Hawaii Volcanoes National Park of Hawaii and
- Denali National Park of Alaska
These represent the 10th through 15th issues from the United States Mint’s America the Beautiful Quarters® Program, a series of coins that commemorate national parks, national forests and other national sites throughout the U.S. and its territories. The quarter-dollars were introduced by US Mint 2010.
