On Tuesday, December 18, 2012, the United States Mint began accepting orders for the second term Grover Cleveland Presidential $1 Coin Cover, the 24th issue in the American Presidency $1 Coin Cover Series.
The bureau this week also published the latest sales figures for the series, which continues to show a declining trend with each successive coin cover release. Before getting to the sales numbers, a few news details are discussed about the latest Grover Cleveland Presidential Dollar Coin Cover.
This newest 22,000 limited-edition coin cover features two circulating-quality second term Grover Cleveland $1 coins that are from the first day of production. U.S. Mint facilities in Denver and Philadelphia are responsible for producing circulating-quality Presidential $1 coins. The coin cover’s Grover Cleveland dollar from Philadelphia was minted on May 1, 2012 while the dollar from Denver was minted on May 16, 2012. These two $1 coins are mounted to the left of a portrait of Grover Cleveland, which itself is to the left of a U.S. 45-cent Weather Vane postage stamp.
Anyone interested may order the 24th Presidential Dollar Coin Cover directly from the U.S. Mint’s store, http://www.usmint.gov/catalog, or by calling 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468). The price is $19.95. It is the last issue for 2012, and the fourth for the year overall.
The American Presidency $1 Coin Cover Series debuted in 2007 as a companion numismatic product to the U.S. Mint’s Presidential $1 Coin Program. The Mint continues to sell coin covers dating back to 2009. The following grid offers the latest sales figures for the series.
