The image, by United States Mint Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) artist Chris Costello and executed by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Renata Gordon, shows a historic log cabin and its surroundings found within the national park.
Each coin of the program, including this issue, is composed of five ounces of .999 fine silver with a diameter of three inches. They are nearly identical to five ounce silver bullion coins also issued by the United States Mint, with this uncirculated variety containing a ‘P’ mintmark indicating they were struck at the U.S. Mint’s facility in Philadelphia.
