A dozen different products will be released by the United States Mint in December, according to its online product schedule.
First Spouse Gold Coins and Presidential $1 Coin & Medal Sets are among U.S. Mint product releases for December
These products are mostly related or issued as a part of two different series, the Presidential $1 Coin Program and the First Spouse Gold Coin Program.
Just one product stands completely apart from those two series and it may be the most popular release of the month. That product is the 2013 United States Mint Limited Edition Silver Proof Set™ containing eight coins struck from 90% silver. More information on the Limited Edition Silver Proof Set is offered below.
Perhaps competing in popularity could be the 2013 Theodore Roosevelt Coin and Chronicles Set. This set marks an interesting addition as it is a first. Again, more information about it is below.

12.02.2013 – Helen Taft First Spouse Gold Coins

Helen Taft First Spouse Gold Coins are the third set of five in the series for 2013. Available in proof and uncirculated qualities, obverses bear a portrait of Helen, wife of the 27th U.S. President, William Howard Taft.
Reverses feature a Japanese cherry blossom branch, symbolizing her role in bringing the cherry trees to Washington, D.C.
Limited to 10,000 across both production options, opening prices will be $815 for the proof and $795 for the uncirculated. These prices can change weekly.
12.03.2013 – 2013 William Howard Taft Presidential $1 Coin & Helen Taft Medal Set

2013 William Howard Taft Presidential $1 Coin & Helen Taft Medal Sets include one William Howard Taft Presidential $1 Coin struck to uncirculated quality at the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia and a bronze medal replica of the Helen Taft First Spouse Gold Coin.
Both the coin and the medal are attached to a durable plastic card which also includes the President’s and first spouse’s portraits. Pricing of the set is $9.95 with no pre-determined mintage limit in place.
12.09.2013 – Ellen Wilson First Spouse Gold Coins

Ellen Wilson First Spouse Gold Coins will be available in both proof and uncirculated qualities with each struck at the US Mint’s facility in West Point. Shown on the obverse is a portrait of Ellen, wife of the 28th United States President, Woodrow Wilson. The reverse includes a scene emblematic of her life.
First Spouse Gold Coins are encapsulated and ship in a custom-designed, highly polished, dome-chested, lacquered hardwood presentation case. A numbered certificate of authenticity is also included.
Limited to 10,000 across both production options, pricing will be determined close to release.
12.10.2013 – 2013 Woodrow Wilson Presidential $1 Coin & Ellen Wilson First Spouse Medal Set

Like its predecessors, the 2013 Woodrow Wilson Presidential $1 Coin & Ellen Wilson First Spouse Medal Set will be sold for $9.95. The set includes one Woodrow Wilson Presidential $1 Coin and one bronze medal replica of the Ellen Wilson First Spouse Gold Coin.
This release marks the first of two in the program to contain a Woodrow Wilson Presidential $1 Coin. Later in the month, a second set will be issued which includes a bronze medal replica of his second wife, Edith.

12.16.2013 – Edith Wilson First Spouse Gold Coins

Proof and uncirculated Edith Wilson First Spouse Gold Coins will be available beginning on December 16, 2013. These coins contain a portrait of Edith Wilson, the second wife of President Woodrow Wilson.
Shown on the reverse is an image of Edith’s hand supporting her husband’s after he suffered a stroke. Like other coins of the program, pricing of these will be determined weekly based on gold market fluctuations.
12.16.2013 – 2013 First Spouse Bronze Medal Set

2013 First Spouse Bronze Medal Sets contain bronze medal replicas of all five 2013 First Spouse Gold Medal Coins. Individuals honored by the set include Ida McKinley, Edith Roosevelt, Helen Taft, Ellen Wilson and Edith Wilson.
Pricing of the release is listed as $16.95.
12.17.2013 – 2013 Theodore Roosevelt Coin and Chronicles Set

The 2013 Theodore Roosevelt Coin and Chronicles Set will include one 2013 Theodore Roosevelt Presidential $1 Coin struck to proof quality at the US Mint’s facility in San Francisco. Also included are two medals associated with the 26th US President.
One is a Bald Eagle Bronze Medal from the National Wildlife Refuge System (NWRS) Centennial Medal Series. The other is a Theodore Roosevelt Presidential 1 oz Silver Medal.
Additional printed material related to the President, coin and medals is also a part of the set.
For reference, in 2009 the United States Mint released the 2009 Lincoln Coin and Chronicles Set. Unlike the pending Roosevelt release, however, the Lincoln Coin and Chronicles Set was issued as part of the bicentennial celebrations of the birth of the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. It included a 2009 Abraham Lincoln Commemorative Silver Dollar along with the four 2009 Lincoln Cents which were released that year.
12.19.2013 – 2013 Woodrow Wilson Presidential $1 Coin & Edith Wilson First Spouse Medal Set

The second release of the month to include a Woodrow Wilson Presidential $1 Coin is the 2013 Woodrow Wilson Presidential $1 Coin & Edith Wilson First Spouse Medal Set.
In addition to the Wilson dollar, this set includes a bronze medal replica of the Edith Wilson First Spouse Gold Coin. The first set with the same dollar, described above, will include an Ellen Wilson Bronze Medal.
Ellen was Woodrow’s first wife who died while he was still in office. He then married Edith.
