The June 2011 product schedule published by the United States Mint shows that it is not the busiest of the months for the bureau. It does, however, include one of the most popular annual products offered by the agency, the Proof American Silver Eagle coin.
Also up on deck for the month is what should be one of the most popular dollar coins and First Spouse Gold Coins of this year, as well as the third America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin.

06.09.2011 – Yosemite National Park 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin
Coin Category: National Park Silver Coins | Opening Price: $279.95
The United States Mint will start June by releasing the collectible Yosemite National Park 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin. It is the third coin in the new series up for release this year. The United States Mint is in catch-up mode, as each of the three were actually produced last year. The collector Yosemite silver uncirculated coin could likely sell out, given that the first Hot Springs issue did and the second Yellowstone issue is very close to selling out as of this writing. All of the 2010-dated 5 ounce silver uncirculated coins have a per coin mintage limit of 27,000. The Yosemite silver coin features the same designs as seen on the Yosemite America the Beautiful Quarter. The main differences are its 3-inch size, 5 ounces of .999 fine silver, and edge letterings denoting their fineness and weight.
06.13.2011 – Olympic National Park Quarter Bags and Rolls
Coin Category: America the Beautiful Quarters® | Prices » Rolls: $39.95; Bag: $49.95
Debuting in June is the third America the Beautiful Quarter for this year and the eighth since the series kicked off last year. The Olympic quarter celebrates the national park located in the state of Washington. Its design features the famous Mount Olympus with its glacier-capped 7,980 ft. summit. The Olympic National Park Quarter enters circulation on June 13, which is also the day the United States Mint will offer 100-coin bags and two-roll sets of the quarters for sale on its website. The set contains two rolls with 80 quarters in total — one 40-coin roll with Denver minted coins and the other roll with 40 coins produced in Philadelphia. Buyers can also purchase 100-coin bags of the quarters from either facility.
06.23.2011 – Julia Grant First Spouse Gold Coins & Julia Grant Bronze Medal
Coin Category: First Spouse Gold Coins | Opening Price » Medal: $7.95
The United States Mint will release three products on June 23, the proof and uncirculated Julia Grant First Spouse Gold Coins and the Julia Grant Bronze Medal. The bronze medal is 1 5/16 inches in size and features the same designs as the gold coins. The price for the medal is known. Pricing for each of the one-half ounce, 24-karat gold coins will not be set until the Wednesday before their release as the Mint adjusts numismatic gold coin prices weekly based on the direction of gold. The Julia Grant First Spouse Gold Coins and medal feature an obverse portrait of the first lady. The reverse depicts a young Julia Dent and Ulysses S. Grant, then a West Point cadet, horseback riding at her family’s plantation, named White Haven.
06.29.2011 – Ulysses S. Grant Presidential $1 Coin Cover
Coin Category: Presidential Dollars | Opening Price: $19.95
The Ulysses S. Grant Presidential $1 Coin was released into circulation on May 19, with rolls of the dollars featured as a United States Mint product in last month’s schedule. The coin cover for release on June 29 is a collector’s product that includes two Grant $1s — one from Philadelphia and the other from Denver. These coins are pulled from the Mint’s production line during the first day of minting, and packaged within a display card along with a U.S. 44-cent Flag postage stamp postmarked on the day they were sent into circulation. The Ulysses S. Grant Presidential $1 Coin is the 18th release in the Presidential $1 Coin Program which debuted in 2007. The $1 coin cover has a production limit of 22,000 units.
06.30.2011 – 2011 Proof American Silver Eagle Coin
Coin Category: American Eagle Coins | Price: Not Yet Determined
The final United States Mint product scheduled to launch in June is the 2011 Proof American Silver Eagle Coin. It will, based on history, become one of the Mint’s most popular collector releases of the year. Last year’s proof eagle reached 860,000 in sales before it sold out. The 2010 proof Silver Eagle was issued for a price of $45.95. This year’s coin is likely to debut at a higher price point given that the cost of silver is substantially more than the previous year. The proof coin contains one-ounce of .999 fine silver. As a collector coin, it carries the proof finish and the West Point "W" mint mark. The investment bullion versions which share the same design do not have a mint mark.
