2012 Chaco Culture National Historical Park Quarter

Today, April 2, 2012, the United States Mint started accepting orders for rolls and bags of Chaco Culture National Historical Park Quarters, the second of the America the Beautiful Quarters featuring a 2012 date. Federal Reserve Banks began deploying the coins into circulation today as well.

Chaco Culture National Historical Park is located in the state of New Mexico and marks the 12th release overall in in the America the Beautiful Quarters program which feature reverse designs of national parks and national sites located in U.S. states, territories and the District of Columbia.

The reverse design shown on the Chaco Culture National Historical Park Quarter, created by Donna Weaver, depicts a view to the west of two elevated kivas that are part of the Chetro Ketl Complex, the north wall of Chetro Ketl and the north wall of the canyon.

U.S. Mint rolls of the quarters are priced at $32.95. The product is sold as a "two-roll set" with 40-coins per roll — one with coins minted in Denver and the other filled with coins produced in Philadelphia. 100-coin bags containing quarters from either location are available for a price of $34.95. The rolls and bags are stamped with the name of the park, the face value of their contents, mint marks of "P" or "D" and the state abbreviation "NM" for New Mexico.
