Presidential Dollars
The first four Presidential Dollars were issued in 2007 by the United States Mint. At a rate of four releases each year, the U.S. Mint is expected to conclude the coin program honoring former presidents by the year 2016. Hundreds of millions of the coins will have been produced by then (see $1 mintages). Each of the dollars has a common reverse, but the obverse changes per release to feature a president’s portrait. The following summaries link to past, current and upcoming designs.
