The Professional Numismatists Guild (www.PNGdealers.com) and the Whitman Coin and Collectibles Conventions (www.WhitmanExpo.com) have reached an agreement to let PNG member-dealers enter Whitman’s Atlanta and Baltimore shows using their PNG credentials rather than requiring them to have other photo identification badges for each respective show.
Announcement of the expedited entry arrangement was made during the PNG general membership meeting in Orlando, Florida, January 9, 2008.
Whitman conducts the annual Whitman Coin and Collectibles Atlanta Expo each autumn, and the Whitman Baltimore Coin and Currency Conventions three times a year in the spring, summer and winter.
“The Whitman Coin and Collectibles Conventions recently implemented a new state-of-the-art photo identification system that dramatically streamlines the dealer registration process. Each photo ID badge has a bar code that can be scanned to validate the dealer’s eligibility to receive a ribbon that permits entry to the specific Atlanta or Baltimore show,” said David Crenshaw, General Manager of the Whitman Expos, a division of Whitman Publishing, LLC.
“The dealers are responsible for keeping and then bringing their badges to each show. To compliment this efficient registration process, we now will honor Professional Numismatists Guild member-dealer photo badges for PNG dealers who are registered for the show. This allows PNG members to receive their show ribbons in advance and have validated access to the bourse floor without going through the dealer registration process.”
The PNG dealer entry program will begin with the next Baltimore show, February 28 – March 2.
“Many PNG member-dealers regularly attend the Whitman shows, so this new agreement on identification badges will be beneficial for both PNG and the Atlanta and Baltimore shows,” said Robert Brueggeman, PNG Executive Director.
