The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister responsible for the Royal Canadian Mint, today announced the appointment of Ms. Bonnie Staples-Lyon of Winnipeg as a member of the board of directors of the Royal Canadian Mint for a term of four years.
"I am pleased that Ms. Staples-Lyon has agreed to serve as a director of the Royal Canadian Mint," said Minister Cannon. "Her experience in business and communications will be an asset to the organization."
Ms. Staples-Lyon studied journalism at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary, Alberta. Over her career, she has held a variety of communications positions in several ministries in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. She joined Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. in 2000, where she was vice-president, corporate affairs and communications. In 2007, she founded her own company, Staples-Lyon Communications Inc., of which she is president.
