The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has announced the launch of the 2009 $2 Single Note Collection Subscription Program.
For $79.50, collectors can guarantee delivery, as they are made available through the year, of one Series 2003A $2 note from 10 of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks — Minneapolis and Kansas City Districts are excluded. The notes are attractive in that each is crisp, uncirculated and bears a serial number beginning with "2009xxxxD."
$2 singles in 2008 were sold out within hours of release, making the 2009 subscription program a likely "must do" for anyone interested in the series. However, the BEP warns that the "subscription is limited to 6,000 sets worldwide." Collectors interested should act quickly.
For more information or to place an order, follow the BEP page: 2009 $2 Single Note Collection Subscription Program.
The $2 single banknotes in 2008 were sold separately for $7.95 each. Based on the subscription program, 2009 prices appear to be identical. Bank order nor dates have been published by the BEP for when the notes go on sale individually.
