Paul Montgomery Launches New Business Model and Web Site

Paul Montgomery(Katy, Texas) — Veteran rare coin dealer Paul Montgomery has created what he describes as "a new business model for professional numismatics" and has launched a new Web site (www.PaulMontgomeryonline.com) for his company, Paul Montgomery & Associates, LLC (PMA) of Katy, Texas.

"I call it ‘event-driven’ numismatic services. PMA will offer comprehensive, professional assistance never before offered on a national level and never before offered through an entirely transparent process for collectors, investors, dealers, attorneys and estate planners. In addition to traditional numismatic services, PMA provides third-party dispute resolution, acquisition and liquidation strategies for collectors and investors, and infrastructural consultation for private firms and hobby organizations," explained Montgomery.

"Our fee-based model is the first of its scope offered in the numismatic trade," he said.

"The extraordinary growth of the numismatic marketplace and profession over the past 25 years advanced so rapidly that it left a void of experienced leadership at the upper level of industry management. Both commercial businesses and nonprofit organizations can become so focused on the bottom line that oftentimes important pieces of day-to-day business can be missed. My purpose is to help identify and fill that void, and the new Web site explains these kinds of services."

Elected President of the Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG) this past August, Montgomery also currently serves on the board and is a past Chairman of the Industry Council for Tangible Assets (ICTA). His company, Paul Montgomery and Associates, was engaged by the Securities and Exchange Commission earlier this year as the rare coin consultant and expert to the court-appointed receiver to manage the cessation of business for the Stanford Financial Receivership. Under Montgomery’s supervision, PMA will be responsible for the successful disposition of the multi-million dollar numismatic and precious metals holdings of Stanford Coins and Bullion as well as other Stanford entities.

Montgomery is co-author with Mark Borckardt and Ray Knight of an award-winning book, Million Dollar Nickels, about the famous 1913 Liberty Head nickels and his successful efforts in 2003 to bring the Walton specimen out of "hiding" to solve the mystery of where it had been for over 40 years.
