ANA Seeks Numismatic Presentations and Invites Exhibitors to Pittsburgh National Money Show

ANA Seeks Numismatic Theatre Presentations for Pittsburgh National Money Show in October 2011

ANA Seeking Numismatic Theatre Proposals for Pittsburgh National Money Show American Numismatic Association members are encouraged to share their ideas and research with fellow hobbyists by delivering a Numismatic Theatre presentation at the ANA’s 2011 Pittsburgh National Money Show, Oct. 13-15 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

Numismatic Theatre consists of 30-45 minute presentations on a wide range of topics, and is a chance for collectors to share their expertise with the numismatic community. Presentations from previous shows include:

  • "The Comstock Lode and the Carson City Mint,"
  • "The Art and Propaganda of Napoleon’s Commemorative Medals" and
  • "The S.S. Central America Treasure."

A videographer will be on hand to record the presentations; talks should be accompanied by digital images or slides.

Collectors interested in giving a Numismatic Theatre presentation can download a proposal form at www.nationalmoneyshow.com (select the "Education" tab). Proposals can be sent by fax to 719-634-4085, or by mail to the ANA Education Department, 818 N Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. Proposals must be received by Sept. 2.

The Pittsburgh National Money Show is the ANA’s inaugural fall National Money Show. Show hours are 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Oct. 13-15. Admission is $6 for adults, and free for ANA members and children 12 and under. For more information, visit www.nationalmoneyshow.com.

ANA Invites Exhibitors to Pittsburgh National Money Show in October 2011

Members of the American Numismatic Association are invited to showcase their collections and research with fellow hobbyists by presenting educational exhibits at the 2011 Pittsburgh National Money Show, Oct. 13-15 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

The Collector Exhibits area brings together talented numismatic exhibitors and collections from across the country. All areas of numismatics are represented, including U. S. coins and paper money, ancient coins, tokens and medals, and other topics from around the world.

Exhibitors have the option to enter their displays as competitive or non-competitive. Competitive exhibits are judged on a variety of standards, including educational value, presentation, and degree of difficulty. Awards are given in six categories; several special awards are also presented.
