The United States Mint kicks off September’s third week with a Presidential $1 Coin Cover honoring Benjamin Harrison and bronze medals to commemorate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
Tuesday, September 18, the Benjamin Harrison Presidential $1 Coin Cover will launch after more than a month following the release of the $1 coin in rolls, bags and boxes. Harrison’s Coin Cover is the 23rd issue in the series. It features two circulating quality dollars that were minted on the first day of production at the U.S. Mint facilities in Denver and Philadelphia. Also included on the coin cover is a 45-cent Weather Vane postage stamp plus the postmark of the release date.

Ending the week is the Thursday, September 20, release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi 3" and 1.5" Bronze Medals. Besides coins, the U.S. Mint produces Congressional Gold Medals so that Congress can bestow them to individuals who have achievements that have impacted America or the world. The U.S. Mint follows up with bronze medals, reproductions of the award, and offers them to the public.
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is recognized for her leadership and perseverance in the struggle for freedom and democracy in Burma.
