Buying activity eased last week for United States Mint products, the bureau’s latest weekly sales figures show. Collectors were most interested in silver coins and newer products.
In our weekly listing of U.S. Mint best-sellers, silver related products held five of the top seven spots and only one product in the top ten lacked a 2013 date.

Taking the number three position was the 2012 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set, jumping 5,864 to 23,919. September was the last time the set had topped 1,000, with recent weekly gains below 300.
The set’s increased appeal comes from the 2012-W Uncirculated American Silver Eagle within it, as the individually offered uncirculated Silver Eagle sold out last week. This coin is poised to mark a new mintage low in the series, and the set is now the single means to get one from the Mint. Sales updates for the individual 2012-W Uncirculated American Silver Eagle ended at 202,504.
Also selling out last week was the El Yunque five ounce silver uncirculated coin. Sales updates have ended for it as well. Its unaudited final sales total is 17,314. Currently, the only available America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin is the one honoring Chaco Culture National Park. Its sales rose 176 to 15,776.
Overall, 26 products outperformed their previous weekly sales compared to the 43 noted in last week’s sales report.
Showing a sharp decline were rolls of White Mountain National Forest quarters. Sales of the rolls were cut nearly in half, by 11,824 to a new total of 13,391.

this 2012w american eagle burnished uncirculated silver dollar and five other dollar coin set could jump over $100.00 soon, possibly to $150.00 at least. it was the lowest mintage for this series.
Looks like the Girl Scout coins are missing from the Numismatic listing. If it falls out of the top 10, we won’t be able to track them.
The US mint is still selling 2012 Making American History coin & currency set with the proof silver eagle from San Francisco. It’s keeping the price of the 2012s American Silver Eagle two-coin proof sets down. The price should go up once the mint takes them off the shelf. The 2012-S proof silver eagle will be the lowest minted proof silver eagle as of now. There will be no more than 324.981 of them.
this set is just 23,919. and it’s almost sell out i guess. better buy them earlier.
I bought my 2012-W burnished Silver American Eagles when they first came out in August 2012 for $45.95 annie. I buy all the Silver Eagles early.
I agree annie the price of the 2012-W burnished Silver Eagle will rise when they sell out at the mint.
Could be mistaken, but the 2008 annual uncirculated dollar set, the last such set, had sales of 98,896. If the 2012 sets make that number there could be a lot of 2012 W eagles yet to come.
@Kahoola… the mint is pretty unpredictable right now, but the trend of late has been to pull items surprisingly early. That said even if they do sell another 70,000 of the sets (which I seriously doubt), it will still be a low production Eagle.
What happened to the release date of the 2013 Uncirculated sets? I saw it on the mint website about 10 days ago, now it seems to have disappeared?
Don’t know about the set, but the 2013-W uncirculated ASE is to be released May 28.
The 2013 Enhanced Eagle Set will be, undisputedly, the most sought after US Eagles ever. This includes the Reverse Eagles. Even looking at the image on a computer screen it is extraordinarily beautiful, and seemingly mocks the colorization of other world coins while retaining ONLY metalwork die numismatic craftsmanship techniques. It looks better than the junk, colorized, gem enhanced wanna-be world coins, without succumbing to the coin fad craze of bedazzling perfectly good designs. Don’t own no stinking owl coin…never will. And I will bet someone out there will sell their COTY Owl coin and use the money to buy… Read more »
Ordered an El Yunque a few weeks ago when they were still available and got a message they are now sold out and my order was cancelled. It had a ship date when I ordered it as well. I was going to try to collect the whole series and the Hawaii one sold out well below stated mintage and now this. They make it difficult when you have to budget for these.
