Debut sales for the 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters Uncirculated Coin Set appears to be the strongest among those issued since 2010.
Released on Thursday, buyers by Monday had ordered 13,052 of the sets. Each set has five uncirculated America the Beautiful Quarters struck at the U.S. Mint facility in Philadelphia and five produced at the U.S. Mint facility in Denver. Reverse designs found on the quarters honor White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire, Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial in Ohio, Great Basin National Park in Nevada, Fort McHenry Memorial and Historic Shrine in Maryland and Mount Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota.
This is the fourth year of issue and the second year in which the sets sported a cheaper issue price of $12.95. When the sets debuted in 2010 alongside the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program, they were pricier at $21.95. Sales have been stronger since the price drop. Last year’s set sold out with the highest sales total from the group so far. The U.S. Mint continues to offer the 2010-dated and 2011-dated sets.
Below is a table of debut and current sales for all sets. Apple-to-apple comparisons between the debuting figures are far from exacting since the reporting periods differ greatly. The U.S. Mint published the first batch of sales weeks after sets in 2010 and 2011 had launched. More relevant is seeing how sales have progressed over time.
