Demand started strong for 2013 United States Mint Uncirculated Coin Sets with beginning sales at 157,783 units.
That is the total number of orders received by U.S. Mint from the set’s release on Tuesday, June 4, through to Monday, June 10. For the week, it was the Mint’s most popular numismatic product. The 2013 Mint Set accounted for revenue of just over $4.41 million since each one is $27.95.
Snapping a downward trend in recent years and as has been the case with other core sets released this year, its initial performance is comparable and perhaps even a bit better than last year’s set. An exact comparison between the two is impossible since their debuting reporting periods differ. Last year’s 2012 Mint Set opened with sales of 164,450 from a Monday to Monday time frame.
The following table offers debut sales and ending sales for the annually issued sets since 2007.
