Gains in Sold Out Products
Last week, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, the 2013-Proof Silver Eagle sold out. Its sales total, as shown in the #6 top spot above, jumped 5,359 to 868,204. The proof Silver Eagle is now only available from the Mint through its 2013 Congratulations Set, and that’s making it more popular. The set’s sales total, as shown in the #7 top spot above, almost doubled in a single week by gaining 4,669 to 9,602.
This past Tuesday, Nov. 19, the 2013-P Great Basin National Park Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin sold out. Its total should move up next week by a few dozen. In this week’s report, it gained 197 to 17,774. Interestingly, the 2013-P Mount Rushmore National Memorial Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin is already near that level even though it has been on sale for less than two weeks. It jumped 3,036 during its first full week of availability and now has a sales total of 17,048.

Visit the United States Mint website at http://catalog.usmint.gov for product information.
Mt Rushmore ATB 5 oz numismatic sales are booming. I may have to pick up another before they’re sold out.
Am hoping the ASE unc are taken off sale before they total more than 2012 sales figures. Their sales also increased this week by a few percentage points.
Any suggestions on how to tell if a US Mint item is nearing a sellout? I have my own view but would like to hear from you all.
I see that White Mountain and Great Basin ATB 5 oz silver numismatic coins are sold out at the Mint. Won’t be long before Mt Rushmore is gone as well, perhaps.
Except for the end of year count downs on commemorative coin sets the mint has been having lately they are seriously tight-lipped about when sales will end for any product. Maybe they mint coins ahead but are loathe to tell anybody how many are left to sell (because they don’t know?).
What’s your viewpoint?
@ Leo S. Regarding The Mint website not working.
The website is back up and running. The Mint just needed a little down time in order to reinstitute the 30 day return policy. https://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ReturnView?storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&langId=-1#Returns
As far as I’m concerned, if more than one person knows, it’s not a secret. I think if you see unusual heavy buying on a particular item, something is probably going to be sold out soon. Of course you would have to take the holiday surge into consideration. Just compare it with last year and the year before corresponding week’s sales. This sight has a nice prior searchable info. BTY, love the new spell check feature! “It don’t make me look stupider….lol! Happy holidays everyone!!
I’m betting on the Presidential Proof set getting close to the 250K mark to be sold out first. I have 249,298 as a final for last year so another week or so, hopefully. Last I saw the 2012’s were selling in the $69 range on EBAY. Pretty nice 264% premium!
