It’s been exactly one month since the U.S. Mint released a new product. That changed today at noon ET when sales kicked off for the Hoover Presidential $1 Coin & First Spouse Medal Set. The set includes collectibles featuring Herbert Hoover, the 31st President of the United States, and his wife Lou.
Listed at $9.95, this product has one uncirculated quality 2014-P Herbert Hoover Presidential $1 Coin and one Lou Hoover First Spouse Bronze Medal. The bronze medal and dollar coin, both struck at the Philadelphia Mint, are mounted on a decorative card with portraits of the two and their signatures.
Hoover Presidential $1 Coins became available in rolls, bags and boxes on June 19, 2014 at prices ranging from $32.95 to $275.95.
The medal is made in likeness of Lou Hoover First Spouse Gold Coins which launched on Aug. 14, 2014. First Spouse Gold Coins are struck in the U.S. Mint facility at West Point Mint from one-half ounce of 24-karat gold to uncirculated and proof finishes. The U.S. Mint is selling Lou Hoover First Spouse Gold Coins in proof quality for $815 and in uncirculated quality for $795. These prices can vary weekly based on the direction of gold.
