Last week the United States Mint released seven products featuring quarters and a silver coin with a design emblematic of Everglades National Park in Florida. All of them were among the Mint’s top weekly sellers but their starting performances were down compared to past series starts in 2014.
Six products with Everglades quarters launched on Monday, Nov. 3. Available options include bags and rolls of circulating-quality coins struck in Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco with mint marks of ‘P’, ‘D’ and ‘S’. The number of Everglades quarters sold in the first couple of days reached 1,918,160. The opening is the weakest this year as compared to the other 2014 America the Beautiful Quarters which logged starts of:
- 2,079,860 for Great Sand Dunes quarters,
- 2,002,300 for Arches quarters,
- 2,211,600 for Shenandoah quarters, and
- 2,186,480 for Great Smoky Mountain quarters
The Great Sand Dunes National Park Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins launched on Thursday, Nov. 6. Its sales start of 16,243 was also the weakest this year.

Really like this format with current and past week’s sales data as well as % gain, leaving 2013 #’s in there for reference is a nice touch too! Thanks!!!
I have a question about the 2014 Kennedy half dollar sales figures. With 30,111 roll sets sold, and 12,150 bags of 200 sold, that brings the total sales figures to about 4.8 million halves. But the production figures show only 4.6 halves being produced this year (2.1 Denver plus 2.5 philly). How can they sales more than they make?

I guess the… Read more »

Mark – Regarding the possibility of a price decrease on the Pucks, I’ve done some research going back and looking the price of the pucks over spot & I’m leaning to the thought that the mint balances the Puck price to around $11-$12/ounce over spot. Currently, it’s $15.3 per ounce over spot at a sales price of $154.95 – therefore current pricing for the pucks is out of parameters (or an imbalance exists (IMO) if using historical pricing over the past 14-18 months, IMO. So I think you’re correct in thinking that it’s the highest ratio to-date for a puck.… Read more »
The high margin on the 5-oz Everglades and the removal of discounts for the loyal subscription customers, without even waiting until 2015, leads me to believe that it’s another ploy by the Liberals.
