Having already talked about the release and starting sales of the 2015 Proof Silver Eagle, we’ll take another quick look at the latest figures of the last year’s commemorative coins since those that hadn’t already sold out went off sale last Tuesday, Dec. 30.
The two U.S. commemorative programs diverged greatly with curved 2014 National Baseball Hall of Fame Commemorative Coins realizing enormous success while, by comparison, 2014 Civil Rights Act of 1964 Silver Dollars were about forgotten.
For the latter, sales of the uncirculated $1 ended at the lowest level for a commemorative silver coin since the 1996-S Uncirculated National Community Service Silver Dollar stopped at 23,500.
Civil Rights Act of 1964 Silver Dollars

Uncirculated Commemorative Coin | 24,720 | 129 |
As for the baseball commemoratives, only the clad half-dollar products were available in the final days since the others had already sold out. Sales of the individually packaged dollars were trimmed.

Hello mike
I’ve been following the price of the 2013 unc. set, on ebay , seems as if no one realizes its the lowest mintage in over 50 years.the price hasn’t moved , just wondering if there’s any logical reasoning
I was wondering the same thing May. I know the 2012 set sold out abruptly in December of 2012 which may have made a quicker impact since it sold out early on. Maybe it’s just taking a while to sink in. I was wondering about the Annual Dollar sets as well. These contain a key ASE and their price isn’t moving.
May & Jack:
The best advice/information I can give you is,
“Give it some Time”.
The ’14 mint sets are even less than the ’13s. The ’12 dollar sets were by far the fewest up to that point and the ’14s may be less than that. The price would have zoomed up in times past. Wonder if the problem is that there aren’t enough collectors? I don’t know personally of any young collectors. Kids now days wave their smart phones to buy stuff and do not use money. My experience is that they don’t even know what the current circulating coins are. You can not collect what you don’t know exists.
