CCAC to Meet at ANA Money Show; Host Public Forum

CCACA packed couple of days is ahead for the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC), a body tasked with advising the Secretary of the Treasury on themes and designs pertaining to U.S. coins and medals.

Held in conjunction with ANA’s National Money Show in Portland, the CCAC will meet to review and discuss candidate designs on Thursday, March 5. Then on Friday, March 6, it will host a forum. Both events are open to interested members of the public.

Beginning at 9:30 a.m. and lasting until 6:45 p.m. Pacific Time, agenda topics for Thursday include:

  • Review and discuss candidate designs for the Code Talkers Recognition Congressional Medal for the Rosebud Sioux Tribe.
  • Review and discuss candidate designs for the 2016 Mark Twain Commemorative Coin Program.
  • Discussion of actions on Resolution 2015-01; Liberty Coinage Program and Resolution 2015-02: 2019 Apollo 11 Commemorative Coinage Program.
  • Review and discuss candidate designs for the Monuments Men Congressional Gold Medal Program.
  • Discuss concepts/themes for the 2017 America the Beautiful Quarters® Program.
  • Review and discuss candidate designs for the 2016 Presidential $1 coin honoring Ronald Reagan.
  • Discuss concept/theme for the First Spouse Coin and Medal honoring Nancy Reagan.

This meeting will take place at the Oregon Convention Center, 777 N.E. MLK Jr. Blvd., in Conference Room #151.

On Friday, the CCAC will host a public forum to receive input from collectors and other members of the public. It will begin at 9:00 a.m. in Conference Room #149.
