Today, May 12, the United States Mint released another installment in its series of Presidential $1 Coin & First Spouse Medal Sets. This new set honors the 34th President of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and his wife, Mamie.
Priced at $9.95, which is the same for sets since 2012, this collector product has one uncirculated quality Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential $1 Coin and one Mamie Eisenhower First Spouse Bronze Medal. Both are mounted on a decorative card with their portraits and signatures.
Eisenhower Presidential $1 Coins became available on April 13 in U.S. Mint-branded rolls, bags and boxes at prices ranging from $32.95 to $275.95. Since their release, collectors have ordered just over 3.4 million of them.
The bronze medal is in the likeness of the Mamie Eisenhower First Spouse Gold Coins that launched last week on May 7. All First Spouse Gold Coins are produced at the West Point Mint. Their precious metal composition totals one-half ounce of 24-karat gold, and the Mint makes them available in uncirculated and proof finishes. At this time, proofs are $790 and uncirculated issues are $770. These prices can vary weekly based on market conditions. So far, collectors have ordered 1,450 of the proof and 1,025 of the uncirculated.

Past Set Sales
During the first few years of the program, the U.S. Mint sold First Spouse Bronze Medals individually, but in 2011 they discontinued that option. Since then, Presidential $1 Coin & First Spouse Medal Sets have been a primary source for getting the bronze medals of the former First Ladies.
