This week’s sales report on United States Mint products includes updated or first-time totals for the 2015 John F. Kennedy Coin & Chronicles Set, the 2015 Lyndon B. Johnson $1 Coin Cover, and the 2015 First Spouse Bronze Four-Medal Set.
These first two products launched last week. The medal set was just introduced on Monday.
JFK Coin & Chronicles Set
2015 John F. Kennedy Coin & Chronicles Sets are edging closer to a sellout but they’re moving much slower than when 45,613 sold on their launch day, Sept. 16.
The latest figures have sales through Tuesday at 48,117 sets, or 96.2% of the maximum 50,000. That’s actually down by 345 units from the Mint’s report of 48,462 sets through Sunday, suggesting some returns and cancellations are beginning to dent the numbers.
As expected, last year’s set for Franklin D. Roosevelt bounced with the JFK release bringing extra attention to the series. Its sales advanced 1,138 to 16,969 for 84.8% of the maximum 20,000. The set’s prior six weekly gains came in at 238; 94; 178; 494; 729; and 174. The 729 increase happened around the release of the 2015 Eisenhower Coin & Chronicles Set.
2015 Lyndon B. Johnson $1 Coin Cover
Lyndon B. Johnson $1 Coin Covers logged four-day sales of 10,287. This latest American Presidency $1 Coin Cover includes circulating-quality LBJ Presidential $1 coins from the first day of their production at the U.S. Mint facilities in Philadelphia and Denver.
The immediate prior set featuring JFK dollars kept the scoring title with its opening sales of 14,722. That start was not only faster than other recent issues but the total was higher than any since 2013. JFK $1 coin cover sales are now up to 17,987.
2015 First Spouse Bronze Four-Medal Set
Introduced this Monday, Sept. 21, the 2015 First Spouse Bronze Four-Medal Set notched first-day sales of 15,386. The set, priced at $16.95, includes 1 5/16-inch bronze medals honoring Bess Truman, Mamie Eisenhower, Jacqueline Kennedy, and Lady Bird Johnson.
Weekly Product Sales Rebound
Collectible sales picked. They were sluggish a week earlier with the extended U.S. Labor Day weekend in play and without new product launches.
Overall, 181 of 241 products outperformed their prior weekly sales. Only 36 products managed that in the prior round. Also, 11 increased by more than 1,000 units compared to 6 previously.
2015 American $1 Coin and Currency Set
The 2015 American $1 Coin and Currency Set was one of the Mint’s products to enjoy stronger weekly gains, advancing 2,242 compared to the prior increase of 1,573. Its latest total sits at 66,260 for 73.6% of the 90,000 maximum.

Visit the United States Mint website at http://catalog.usmint.gov for product information.
These increased mintages in a series are driving me nuts.
The us mint let’s their greed take over instead of leaving the mintage limits to 17k for this 4 sets. That would have made this collection very valuable and desirable but once again they kill it..smh
When will the mint understand?…
The report says “2014” John F. Kennedy coin & chronicles set…
For a 2015 John F. Kennedy Coin and Chronicles Set, the highest price paid was $185.00 each. One month ago on August 23, 2015, ebay seller 1abfer sold four of these sets as Buy It Now pre-sale item #291546710354 for $185.00 each. These are in stark contrast to three days ago on September 20, 2015 when ebay seller yrral4321 sold two individual 2015 John F. Kennedy Coin and Chronicles Sets each for the incredibly low price of only $8.00 + $5.95 shipping as ebay item #252094023134. Their official U.S. Mint issue price was $57.95 as they were released a week… Read more »
Now they are selling in the $70.00 to $80.00 range.
I have no idea the number of listing on EBay but a H of a lot, asking numbers are all over the place.Lots of listing have no bids.Ethical sellers may be force to let these item go for below their cost. The mint single handed shot this offering down.Look back to the 2014 Kennedy 4 silver half dollar sets and the uncirculated two coin set. These offerings are all over minted.I really liked the Kennedy theme.Have more than one set send the other back gift or toss it and forget it.
I have two each of the Truman, Eisenhower, and Kennedy sets. When I get my two of the Johnson sets, I’ll keep one full set and sell the other.
I own two of “2014 Four-Coin Sets” with the reverse proof and love them.
Those who have been collecting the First Spouse Bronze Medal Sets since their beginning in 2007 can have as their benchmark the 2013 First Spouse Five Bronze Medal Set, one of which was ebay item # 131513105800 sold by seller mrbtus for $269.75 with free shipping on June 30, 2015 @ 06:35:01 PDT. The First Spouse series will conclude next year with Nancy Reagan as Ronald Reagan will conclude the Presidential $1 coin series in 2016.
As Hewhodontknow has noted above. there is a typographical error in the above section seventh from the top titled as “Clad Proof Sets”, because the seventh entry from the top is mislabeled as “2014 John F. Kennedy Coin & Chronicles Set” instead of 2015 John F. Kennedy Coin & Chronicles Set.
The date typo is fixed. Thank you for pointing it out.
The mintage #’s are more realistic then 15-17k 15m sell outs, BS HSN sellouts, price will fall, as w/last years Sac$ currency set, there are no 50,000 serious pres $ colectors, maybe not 20k…time will tell, kind of like the 1,000,000,000+ Prez dollars on ice w/the Fed$…..
