Patricia Nixon First Spouse Gold Coins are new to U.S. Mint sales boards, as are 2016 Presidential $1 Coin Proof Sets.
In posting 6-day sales of 124,420, the set of proof dollars sprang out of the sales gate quicker than any since 2012. This year’s set is $17.95 and marks the last in the product line. The final three Presidential dollars feature Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan.
Pat Nixon gold coins started slower with their higher prices — $815.00 for the proof and $795.00 for the uncirculated. Collectors ordered 1,845 coins in the early going with the proofs at 1,159 and the uncirculated coins at 686. These figures are lower than the immediate prior First Spouse Gold Coins for Lady Bird Johnson. They posted debut sales of 2,220 with splits of 1,287 for the proof and 933 for the uncirculated. Their prices were $50 cheaper.
