
On Wednesday, Dec. 21, the United States Mint will likely reduce prices on two dozen gold products.
The U.S. Mint’s collections of collector gold coins have prices that can change weekly depending on the trending value of gold. The agency most recently cut prices on Nov. 30 when the average for gold fell to between $1,150.00 and $1,199.99 an ounce. The precious metal has since touched a 10-1/2-month low and is now trading near $1,132 an ounce.
If Wednesday’s PM LBMA gold price remains below $1,150 an ounce, then coin prices will fall by as much as $50 for every ounce of gold they contain. The following table lists the current and likely prices:

The U.S. Mint made ten pricing changes earlier in the year, raising them in all but four instances. Past adjustments have tended to happen on Wednesdays at around 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. This article will be updated with what actually happens.
Update: As expected, the U.S. Mint decreased coin prices.
