The Perth Mint of Australia is reminding collectors and investors to buy 2017 Year of Rooster Bullion Coins. The series of gold and silver pieces will soon be replaced on perthmintbullion.com with 2018-dated coins.
"In anticipation of the release of the 2018 Year of the Dog gold and silver bullion coins series online buyers are urgently reminded that now is your last chance to acquire remaining Australian Lunar — 2017 Year of the Rooster bullion coins," The Perth Mint announced on its bullion blog.
The rooster is one of 12 zodiac signs associated with the Chinese Lunar Calendar. Those born under the influence of this sign are said to be hardworking, loyal, honest, and sociable. Those born under the Year of the Dog are said to be patient, thoughtful, and hard working.
Available Rooster gold coins include 1/20oz, 1/10oz, 1/4oz, 1/2oz, 2oz, 10oz and 1kg sizes. Still available Rooster silver coins include 1/2oz, 2oz, 5oz, 10oz and 1kg sizes.
Earlier this month, the Mint sold all 100 of its super-sized 2017 Year of the Rooster 10 Kilo Silver Bullion Coins. The coins lasted for just over a month.
In addition to perthmintbullion.com, Rooster coins are sold by coin and precious metals dealers around the world.
