Kangaroos and koalas once again lead the charge of releases at the Perth Mint of Australia. The staple subjects are joined in August by debuting coins featuring Ghostbusters’ Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and Star Trek’s Captain Jean-Luc Picard,
Completing the line-up is new high-relief Norse Goddesses series coin depicting the giantess Hel.

Kangaroo 1oz Gold Proof High Relief Coin
One of the most iconic creatures from the Land Down Under is in high relief on this new gold coin. A single kangaroo, bounding across an outback plain, appears on the coin’s reverse (tails side).
The Kangaroo coin is available with a limited mintage of just 500 units. Each is produced to proof quality from 1oz of 99.99% pure gold.
Koala 5 oz Gold Proof Coin
Another iconic Australian animal is found on this new collector coin, which is minted in five ounces of gold. The massive strike features the likeness of a koala sitting at the base of a eucalyptus tree with another tree in the background.
The Perth Mint indicates that no more than 75 will be issued. Each is in 99.99% pure gold and minted to proof quality.
Koala 1oz Silver Proof High Relief Coin
Showcasing the same basic design as the just mentioned gold coin, this piece is in an ounce of 99.9% pure silver and depicts the marsupial in high relief, adding a level of detail not typically found on standard koala coins.
Issue limit for the release is 9,000 with another 1,000 reserved for other packaging options.
Norse Goddesses – Hel Silver Antiqued High Relief Coin
The ancient Norse mythology goddess Hel appears in high relief on this newest, third and final issue from the Norse Goddesses series — the first coin in the series sold out and the second one is nearing sellout. Hel is the goddess of the dead and the queen of the underworld. She is depicted sitting cross-legged in front of the first World Tree with Nidhug wrapped around its base.
Each piece showcases a special antiqued finish that has proven popular with collectors. Mintage limit is only 2,000. This collector coin is in an ounce of 99.99% pure silver and, unlike the others, is produced by the Perth Mint but issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu.
Ghostbusters™ – Stay Puft Silver Coin
The classic 1984 comedy Ghostbusters™ is again represented on a Perth Mint-produced piece. For July, the Mint released a coin showcasing Slimer. In June, the collectible showcasing the Ghostbusters crew debuted. This third and final series coin, also legal tender of Tuvalu, depicts the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. The giant paranormal monster is seen walking the streets of New York City.
An officially licensed product, it is made in an ounce of 99.99% pure silver and limited to 5,000.

Star Trek: The Next Generation 30th Anniversary Silver Coin
Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Gene Roddenberry’s science fiction franchise Star Trek: The Next Generation, this coin showcases Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Locutus of Borg, the series’ 30th anniversary logo, a Borg Cube and the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D.
Produced by the Perth Mint and issued as legal tender of the Government of Tuvalu, the 3,000-limited coin is minted in an ounce of .9999 fine silver to proof quality.
Each ships with special Star Trek themed packaging which lights up with a green light when opened.

Harp Seal Silver Coin
Offered as the fourth coin in the Polar Babies series is a strike depicting a baby harp seal. The harp seal pup is seen resting on ice.
This collectible is also Tuvalu legal tender. Each is in 1/2oz of 99.99% silver. Mintage for the coin is capped at 5,000.
