US Mint Sales: Apollo 11 Gold Coins Near 80% of Maximum

Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Commemorative Coins saw their second best weekly sales since early March, the latest figures from the United States Mint show.

The suite of collectibles logged new sales of 4,791 coins, led by the proof Apollo 11 Silver Dollar which advanced 2,555 from a week earlier. The silver dollar was the U.S. Mint’s third strongest weekly seller.

In February, the Apollo 11 Half Dollar Set essentially sold out. The proof and uncirculated Apollo 11 gold coins are next nearest to reaching the mark with 79.5% of the allotted 50,000 sold.

Elsewhere, the no longer available 2019 Pride of Two Nations Two-Coin Set moved up 158 to 95,466 for 95.5% of the Mint’s limit.

In its latest report, the U.S. Mint published sales data for 156 numismatic products. Fifty-nine of them outperformed their prior weekly gains against 63 previously. Five products increased by more than 1,000 units to match the previous report.

In addition, 2 products saw their sales reduced compared to 5 previously. Each dipped by 1 unit.

Thanks for update.
Really thought Apollo 5 oz and AU coins would sell out (fast). Oh well, you can never tell. Sad they blew their handling of this.
It may not take AG long to go to $17. Will that give them an excuse to raise prices? They never lowered them when AG tanked.

Saw the special 1 hour of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon on CBS the other day. They showed several pictures, And i noticed on the silver & gold Apollo 11 coins that the U.S. Mint released, They look exactly as 2 pictures i saw on that special. The U.S. Mint did a fantastic job on these coins. I can’t believe they have not sold out, Especially the $5 gold proof coin. I’m very happy that i picked up an NGC proof 70 gold proof Apollo 11 coin. It’s gorgeous.
