US Mint Sales: Flagship 2020 Sets Most Sought

Two flagship United States Mint sets were the strongest numismatic sellers for the week ending May 31, according to the latest batch of sales figures published by the Mint.

The 2020 Silver Proof Set led, advancing 3,339 to 213,558 units, and the clad 2020 Proof Set directly followed with an increase of 2,754 to 265,097 units. After the pair, older 2018- and 2019-dated products rounded out the list of top sellers.

  4. 2018-S Proof American Innovation Dollar (+623 to 212,460)
  5. 2019 Silver Proof Set (+607 to 399,366)
  6. 2019-S Reverse Proof Georgia American Innovation Dollar (+596 to 31,594)
  7. 2019-W Uncirculated Silver Eagle (+553 to 136,290)
  8. 2019 Mint Set (+550 to 328,844)
  9. 2019-S Reverse Proof New Jersey American Innovation Dollar (+430 to 36,156)
  10. 2019-S Reverse Proof Delaware American Innovation Dollar (+407 to 58,016)

In its latest report, the U.S. Mint published sales data for 141 numismatic products. Two products increased by more than 1,000 units compared to 2 in the prior report. Thirty-four outperformed their prior weekly gains against 75 previously. In addition, 2 products saw their sales reduced just like in the prior report. And again, the reductions were modest.

Not sure why it’s sought after. Mint making more of them not rare. What’s the hype on on these coins. I personably do not collect mint or proof sets.

when the mint halted production of the 2020 silver proof set the coin dealers sold these for as high as $175 a set (some i had seen) and they said these were going to be really low mintage,”better grab them while you can”.i wonder what the people, who bought those at those prices, think now?these won’t be low mintage!
