Palladium declined Thursday while other metals gained. Gold’s increase was its third in a row, and it ended the day at a two-week high.
Gold for February delivery tacked on $10.90, or 0.6%, to settle at $1,841.10 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. The settlement was the highest since Nov. 20.
"Stimulus talks and further dollar weakening are lending more support to gold," Reuters quoted StoneX analyst Rhona O’Connell in a note.
Gold futures ranged from a low of $1,826.70 to a high of $1,847.40. They rose 0.6% on Wednesday, they jumped 2.1% on Tuesday and they declined 0.4% on Monday, marking their lowest settlement since July 1 and ending the month of November with a 5.3% loss.
Silver for March delivery finished up 5.7 cents, or 0.2%, to $24.137 an ounce. Silver futures traded between $23.85 and $24.42. They dipped 0.04% on Wednesday, they soared 6.6% on Tuesday and they slipped 0.2% on Monday, logging their weakest finish since July 21 and posting a 4.5% loss for November.

January platinum tacked on $26.50, or 2.6%, to $1,038.60 an ounce, ranging from $1,005 to $1,042.10.
- Palladium for March delivery dropped $90.30, or 3.8%, to $2,317.90 an ounce, trading between $2,228 and $2,431.60.

In comparing earlier fixed London gold and silver prices from Wednesday PM to Thursday PM:
- Gold rose $9.75, or 0.5%, to $1,832.85 an ounce.
- Silver added 19 cents, or 0.8%, to $24.17 an ounce.
