Only two of six coins remain from the U.S. Mint’s collection of products which mark the 100th anniversary of the transition from Morgan dollars to Peace dollars. The four earlier centennial dollars sold out within minutes of their release.
Beginning at Noon ET, the U.S. Mint will offer the 2021 Morgan Silver Dollar and the 2021 Peace Silver Dollar. Both 99.9% pure silver coins are struck at the Mint’s facility in Philadelphia, but do not bear any mintmark as was common at the time of their historical counterparts.
Product limits of just 175,000 Morgans and 200,000 Peace dollars have been established, each with a household order limit of three. They are $85 apiece, which is the same price as each of the four dollars which preceded them.
Those four included the 2021 Morgan Silver Dollar with a CC (Carson City) Privy Mark and the 2021 Morgan Silver Dollar with an O (New Orleans) Privy Mark. They made their pre-order debut in May with a household order limit of ten apiece. Their launch, however, was fraught with issues as the Mint’s website was slammed with traffic making it difficult and in cases impossible for customers to place an order.
Acknowledging the issue, the Mint postponed the release of several products, including the four remaining centennial strikes, to allow time for it to implement a solution. Following new safeguards, the 2021-D Morgan Silver Dollar and the 2021-S Morgan Silver Dollar opened last week for pre-orders with a lower household order limit of three each. The Mint’s changes appeared to have helped, although many still experienced issues as they tried to make their purchases. Both coins lasted less than thirty minutes.
2021 Morgan and Peace Silver Dollar Designs
Like the earlier four dollars, today’s coins are authorized under Public Law 116-286, the 1921 Silver Dollar Coin Anniversary Act, which requires each to feature designs similar to those on their historical predecessors. To accomplish the job, the Mint used century-plus old assets coupled with modern technology to recreate the long-favored images.
This includes the Morgan design as created by U.S. Mint Chief Engraver George T. Morgan for dollars from 1878 to 1904, and 1921. The obverse (heads side) of the Morgan offers Lady Liberty in profile with a cap, flora, and a crown incused with the word "LIBERTY," while 13 stars, "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and the date of issuance encircle her.
The reverse (tails side) of the Morgan dollar depicts a heraldic eagle with outstretched wings clasping arrows and an olive branch, accompanied by a wreath. Reverse inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "ONE DOLLAR."
Renowned Italian American Sculptor Anthony de Francisci created the designs found on the Peace Dollar which originally ran from 1921 to 1935. The obverse has Liberty in profile with a radiant crown on her head. Inscriptions include "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the year of issuance.
Reverses depict an eagle at rest holding an olive branch above the inscription "PEACE." Additional inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and "ONE DOLLAR."

Pre-ordering and Shipping
Pre-order the coins directly from the U.S. Mint’s online store at 2021 Morgan Dollar and 2021 Peace Dollar.
Credit card information will be verified by the Mint at the time a pre-order is made, but the actual charge will not occur until the shipment of the coins in October. This makes it very important for customers to always keep their credit card information on account with the Mint current.
Each dollar arrives within a United States Mint black box, with an outer sleeve adorned with an image of the coin obverse and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
So there are going to be 125,000 sets of the Reverse Proof ASE’s, Type1 W and Type2 S to be included in it with an initial HHL of 1 set. At just $175 I don’t think they will last long, but feel confident I’ll be able to get one. If I (we) can just successfully procure these two remaining cenntenial coins.
I was looking at the pictures of the two coin set and the S-mint proof and saw that in both cases the type 2 shows a W mint mark on the obverse and an S mint mark on the reverse.
Granted, they are only pictures and mistakes happen but how did this get past any kind of editing?
It is our government union workers. Do you really think they care? I was hoping the Type 1 would be the S mint coin, but that would’ve created a stampede of buyers for it. Maybe it’s best that it is a W minted coin! Good luck today, Carl!
Carl,
I have to correct myself. Those government workers do care and got it right! Remember the mint mark is on the left side of the reverse of the Type1 coin. In the picture it is mostly obscured by the obverse of the coin.
I may be mistaken, but I believe that what looks like a ‘W’ is actually the initials of the obverse’s designer (Adolph A. Weinman), which has been added to the obverse of the Type II ASE.
I stand corrected. you have to excuse us blind-as-a-bat people, namely me
Kaiser – Echo-locating only works in 3D. For 2D pictures I need to find my old 3D movie glasses
Thank you Kaiser, you are too generous.
Larry – this is from the 2 coin page on the Mint’s site and the S-mint ASE proof. I go with your 1st assessment re: gov’t union workers
I realized that once it was pointed out to me. Looks like I need a stronger prescription
Kaiser – very true. if I had actually read the description of the type 2 ASE’s instead of just glossing over it, I would have realized that.
The other thing that would have helped is if I viewed the coins on my 24 or 27 inch monitors, like I usually do, instead of my 13″ laptop
I would bet most of you would complain if you were hung with a new rope.
Darned right. I’d complain if I was hung with any kind of rope.
Kind of rope makes no difference, you just have to hope the horse at the other end does not have a “BAD GATEWAY” !!!!
Larry,
Let me at least get over the BP issues for the Type 2 S proofs first before even THINKING about the rev proofs. haha 😉
I just get them through the enrollment program. No BP issues at all when doing that.
They will both be S mintmarked; one type1 and one type 2.
It sez different on their site …
…
…
Like the Killers, I’m Throwing Caution & try to bag both to finish a complete set of 6 confirmations.
I’ll survive if I get shut out. Having never completely satiates wanting. In my experience anyway.
Good luck to all
Is this peace dollar high relief?
Looks like it but it doesn’t state it on website.
It’s not according to previous Mint PR.
I see that. We may be in for a surprise.
From GovMint.com: Will the 2021 Peace and Morgan Silver Dollars be in High Relief? As proposed by Mr. Uram and Mr. Moran, the original plan was for the 2021 coins to match the relief of the 1921 coins, which means the Peace dollar would be struck in high relief. However, the 2021 Peace dollar will not be in the same high relief as the 1921 coin. This lack of high relief is because, as the Mint explained, “the 1921 high relief design rose higher than the border, which makes the design elements susceptible to damage. The relief of the 2021 Peace… Read more »
This was copied from govmint.com regarding today’s Peace dollar. Thinness was odd. Skinnier would not be proper either.

I don’t see any anti counterfeit marks on todays two coins or the reverse proofs that go on sale next week either ???
Apparently, the same goes for intellect, objectivity, basic decency and visual accuity (see below). Solidarity forever — the Union of States and people make us strong.
just got 3 of each today – no issues – what a surprise
Great job!
Took a little longer, 2 minutes today. Check out a little slow.
I wouldn’t know what to do for the next 20+ mins if I got in & out that fast. I budget 25-30 mins of frustrated tapping with ea release.
Got all 6 in one cart. In and out in less than 2 minutes.
Got my confirmation from US Mint at 12:05pmET for three Peace Dollars.
Pleased but did get kicked off three times for “no SSL handshake” then “bad gateway.”
Wondering why US Mint disables my PayPal account on these high-interest items while during non-peak sales Mint still has my PayPal enabled?
was wondering the same thing – why no PayPal
more system resources. It struggles pulling up save data
But does it do it for saved non-PayPal payment methods? In other words, does everyone have to re-enter their payment details or only PayPal folks?
It does pull up saved CC info but it lags hard. Putting it in manually provides better results. I still have to try 10+ times but less hassle.
Ah, OK. So no more gripping from me about PayPal payments being a pain. So we’re all in the same boat – feels like a lifeboat at times instead of a fancy ocean liner.
Same here, took its sweet @zz time loading in my saved CC#.
On my third attempt from being kicked off site got my confirmation (well processing order email) from Mint and quickly thereafter got PayPal notice of funds being requested. And at 5:58pmET today received confirmation email from Mint that order went thru. Never had any human checks or our favorite Captcha tiles to flip at anytime including my initial login and the three other times login to secure my order. Looks like Mint getting kinks out of system as nowhere near as bad website problems like with the WWII commemoratives and the first two Morgan’s. Still have some work to do… Read more »
Yes, it is frustrating having to enter all the PayPal numbers, expiration date and security code yet US Mint states accepts PayPal on their website. Only during the high-interest/volume items does it do this.
No pain, no gain 😉
i’m guessing the paypal gateway handoff adds too much traffic (and another chance for failure).
One of each to go with the D & S, very pleased.
I too got one of each. Interesting that the ship date stated November 15th. oh well…
Let the comment stream commence.
Yes, noticed that when system placed coins into my checkout bag. All information from the Mint before stated mid-October delivery.
Gubmint shenanigans with full inbox, shuffling papers claiming overworked or just looking busy for the boss type thing.
That gives the mint waaay too much time to cancel my order. Something not right about such a long lead time.
are the original orders placed on 24th May also shifter to Nov?
6 months is a long time. People will literally die before receiving their coins.
I’m wondering if this isn’t related to the Delta Covid 19 variant. I’ve noticed it is taking much longer to get anything from the Mint to the various carriers and finally to me. If only we had someone on this site that was employed by the Mint. They could edify all of us! In the meantime remember patience is golden (or was that silence?)
way back when these were first announced was that these would be pre-orders for october (now pushed to november it seems).
this always made me think the mint was in a cash crunch and wanted to collect the money first, then make the coins and ship them.
They don’t bill you till coins ship. Mint is a government agency. They are never hurting for money. I think the reason for delay is having people to do the work.
Mint also stated in past scarcity of silver slabs they receive from their vendors.
Same old story waiting for Gubmint check in the mail – or on our case waiting for our Mint products in mail.
Mint should second their staff to Amazon, eBay, Google, UPS, Ticketmaster and PayPal to learn how private sector handles high volume website activity.
We used to get US Ambassadors and other State Department staff coming over to the non-profit where I used to work in D.C. Mint should think about sending some their career employees over to some of the above to get up-to-snuff.
Kaiser, I have a question to put your mind to. I was under the impression that the order numbers you receive on your order were sequential. If that is true, then figure this one out. There were 200,000 Peace dollars and 175,000 Morgan dollars up for sale and probably 10% less so Mike and the boys could get theirs. I got on at 12:00 and got 3 Peace dollars. Got the mint email for the 3 at 12:02 I wanted those first because of all the lost pages and gateway errors I wanted to have those at least. The number… Read more »
possibly the last digit is a ‘check digit’ to help verify accuracy of order numbers over the phone – if so, that would make the math go down to about 61,100 orders, which seems right given many orders may be for 2 or even 6 coins (the max, 3 of each). there might even be some poor sap buying a proof set during that time, oblivious to fact that these coins were being released, wondering why the site is so sluggish.
c_q 61,000 off 611,000 is a drop in the bucket when there are only 375,000 to be sold,10% go to the big dealers and everyone did not order just 1 coin. I ordered 6 and my friend ordered 6 and we were not the only ones. No one would ordered coins in a feeding frenzy if they wanted a proof set or a silver proof set as I said. Only 6,000 or so are sold in a week. Look at this sites listing of the coins the mint sells every week and you will see what I say is true.… Read more »

I refer you to this site’s August 4th article titled US coin sales. If the top 10 best sellers from 50,000 sales in a week, they had a lot. Were talking 30 minutes here. 50,000 here is also a drop in the bucket.
After 3 tries, a little luck, and Google fiber I snagged both in 4 minutes (without getting the bot check screen).
I had a little trouble checking out, but done at the 10 min mark. Complete set here. Still feel sick to my stomach.
Got my acknowledgment email within seconds of completing the order. Last time it took hrs.
Took a while longer (many more “unhandled errors”) but finally got 3 of each at 12:15.
It was a race but I received my confirmation for the coins I wanted. I have the coveted centennial Peace Dollar, which for me, was what this was all about. Next up, day after today, the S ASE. Then the reverse proof ASEs.
god that was painful, after 15 minutes of continual gateway time-out responses, it finally went through (no order confirmation email yet, just the order received email). both are still showing available online still.
I’m still, struggling with “The page you are looking for cannot be found” messages on checking out
SAME
Bah. Now peace dollars sold out
Aaaaand gone
Little disappointing at the end … but I did get a few orders placed for my various households.
certainly was the hardest I’ve experienced.
No confirmation yet other than an order #, but I managed to snag 2 Morgans and 3 Peace $s. It did NOT go easy AT ALL this time, but isnt that par for the course anymore? BP was raised a LOT, I may need a new prescription. lol So thats all but the privy marks. Maybe this is a sort of reverse(?) confirmation bias, but I dont really dig the privys. I really wanted the CC, but because of the ordering page snag at the time I missed out on those, and let the Os slip. Looking at what they… Read more »
Trade man!! Bet you the peace went fast man!!! You have 3 make a deal!! What do you think the peace dollar will go for on eBay???
I know, someone else mentioned that with the D/S too last time around.
I debated getting a 3rd “P” Morgan, but passed, given my waning interest in the privys.
The “extra” 3rd Peace, I have plans for.
But we’ll see.
I didn’t ever want the privy marks, because I just wasn’t into it. I wasn’t even that keen on getting the actual mint marks, so I skipped last week’s craziness on purpose. These two were the only ones I was actually interested in, and just one of each. I know these will probably be on ebay for obscene amounts of money, but even $85 for 0.85 ounce of silver at the end of the day is plenty expensive enough.
I feel your pain! The ‘web snag’ got me the first time, I managed to pick up the D and S mints, but the ‘web snag’ monster got me again this time. I got all the way to ‘Place Order’ and when I tapped ‘Place Order’ the ‘snag’ popped up….the page has moved or been deleted. Infuriating!
It’s 12:23 p.m. and there are still coins available to order. Will wonders never cease?
Hurry up guys. About to go unavailable.
Finally got the order placed after multiple tries, at 14 minutes. Received email checkout confirmation at 12:14 ET. I expect both coins to go no longer available by 12:30p ET
Just now!
375,000 silver coins sold out in about half an hour.
The process was relatively easy up until the final checkout. Then it took 13+ attempts, 5 times I had to “Press and Hold” to verify you are human, before I finally was able to check out and get a confirmation at 20 minutes past the hour.
Both the Peace and Morgan sold out at 29 minutes past the hour.
I am just a regular collector. I only purchased one each of the six coins. I wanted to leave enjoyment for other collectors.
Fletcher, you are a saint!
Well I did a smart thing and realize a very important thing today!!! I ordered and confirmed my peace dollar!!! And I did this in a 1min!! No lie man!!! How ever right after maybe 2 to 3 minutes afterI added the other Morgan and had I in my cart and got to confirm and it said the page could no be found!! So in less then 5 mins I seem all was going!! And I have my account and all credit card info etc!!!! If I tried to get the Morgan in my cart I could have gotten screwed… Read more »
I also had coins in my cart and then it went to screen cannot be found. Tried about 10 times until a message came up that the cart was illegal, no more coins left
Sir Kaiser and Mike “d” – My experience today at Launch Time was almost identical to what you went through. At 12 noon ET I went for the Peace Dollars and by 12:02pm had completed my order for two. Then I started a second order for two Morgan Dollars and everything went well until the last step of “Final Review” and “Place Order.” It kept giving me result of “Page Not Found” instead of result “order successfully placed” with a USM order number. I kept up this cycle for more than 25 minutes and kept ending up with “page not… Read more »
Rich –
Did you have facebook open on your device while ordering?
Also, while facebook presents itself simply as a way to stay connected with friends and loved ones – what they are really all about is following you around the internet and tracking your every move, then selling all of the information they collect on you to the highest bidder.
No, Mammoth, I did not have facebook open on my laptop PC. Furthermore, I have never used facebook nor have I subscribed to it. I don’t know why facebook was in my space.
Yep, 12:30 p.m. no longer available.
12:28 the Peace was gone. A minute later so was the Morgan.
Well that was not too bad, got three of each in two orders and free delivery to boot. Since I missed the first two releases due to website debacle, I guess i’ll have to pawn some off to get the first two. Onward to the next release!
For all those that moved through the Mints website with ease, congratulations! My experience was a little more hectic, to say the least, but I was able to secure both versions today! Man, they never make it easy!
Grats!
I thought I was going to miss out too, but it did finally go thru. Almost as bad as round 1.
Rob, I know how you feel!.With so many folks trying to order these at the same time, I knew it would be ‘challenging.’ I had so many ‘page not found’ , ‘error’, and ‘are you human’ pages that I honestly couldn’t tell you how many times I had to enter my CC information and Place Order buttons. I will say this, at least when refreshing the page(s), I found that the coins were still in my cart. That saved me a lot of time, unlike when they released the CC and O privy Morgans. Glad to hear you were successful… Read more »
Clicked on “place order” for 30 mins straight and couldn’t get 1 of each coin. It’s pure luck if the server lets you through. Had to verify I was a human about 50 times.
If you have the account and loaded to go when you refresh you should not have to do the human deal,, I got in right away and set the first Oder through,, then the second order I had the gate way crap and was stuff in my cart!!! Then I was dead because too many people already confirmed !!!
Then final it said it could complete the order because it is no longer available!!
This is why do you gamble and try to get them both in cart or be happy with on.. Kaiser, how did you do? Bbb
It took me easily 20 tries to pay for my 3 peace and 2 morgan dollars. Kept getting the Gateway error from above or had to ‘prove I was human’ over and over and over. After three attempts to pay I had to prove I was human, rinse repeat. But….finally……I got them all bought and paid for. Worth a half hour of effort, OH YEAH. I recon they will not redo the privy marks for CC and O so they me be one of a kind, and I only managed to get one of each. Last week I did not get any S or… Read more »
Oh Yeah lol, way to go! I dont know if they will continue. A tour of the Denver mint a few years ago, one of the employees told us about these special coins and almost made it seem like it was one year deal. I think it would be very kewl if the mint continued the Morgan and Peace dollar, especially with an enrollment option.
I logged in at about 11:50 and opened both pages in separate tabs. At noon, I refreshed and I was able to add both and check out without ever getting the “are you human?” screen.
I tried several times on desktop browsers, got the “You’re not a Human!” rebuff over and over, and finally it hit me – ad blocker. That probably contributed to getting rebuffed.
Ended up getting on my iPad (no ad blocker for Safari on that), logged in to my Mint account, and got through to my Cart and was able to complete the purchase.
Academic now I know, but if I could rewind to the first and second batches I would’ve used my iPad for all 3. Got shut out of the first two sales.
I finally figured out (now that it is all over) how to avoid the “prove you are human” anti-BOT loop (and it is a LOOP too) and that is to “allow cookies” on your browser settings and to ensure that Java Script (whatever the hell that is) is turned ON. I did these things and WAH-LA – no need to prove I was human!! Scored 3 of each but it was not easy for me, but easier than with the CC and O privy marks, and easier than the W ASE type II (which I didn’t get)… I plan to… Read more »
Congrats on getting them all.
The javascript is (unseen) code that gets deposited and run on your computer in addition to the http UI web page when u link to a site. The linked-to site my run that – in this case as part of the order process or anti-bot process. Just a guess.
There may be some sites u might trust (or need to trust, like the Mint site), but other more nefarious sites you’d want to block.
Got shut out again. I’ve got 3 CC’s that I’m willing to trade (if they are delivered by the Mint!!). However, I have no way to get this option – ant suggestions?
The CCs are selling in the 300s on ebay. The Morgan and Peace from today are selling in the 150-170s.
I am willing to trade 1 for 1. Which one do you want?
I am looking for 1 CC and 1 O to complete my set.
So am I, got some S and peace and previous release to trade. Will be dealing in October!
When the mint delivers the coins, I’ll decide whether to swap/trad or sell the coins. Not really sure how to contact anyone from this forum – I’m not on social media (i.e. Facebook). I may just sell the excess on Ebay – this was not my plan when I ordered from the mint. I also have ASE T2’s that I may want to clear out too. I think I might just stick with enrollments in the future and start thinning out all my ASE’s. I’ve dealt with the Mint since the mid 60’s and I’m just about done with these… Read more »
Hey JWP, I’ll trade you my Peace dollar for one of your CC’s, if and when I get it. Deal?
Not sure, cc’s are going for 350 plus on Ebay. May have to just go the Ebay route. I possibly have 4 – cc’s and 1 – O excess when they are delivered. Also, no idea how to make contact from this site.
Success after multiple hold your finger to prove I am human, click the trucks and verify, and server issues such as this page no longer exist I did get both.
worse than buying dead tickets in the 70s…
Only took 48 seconds to order all 6 with no errors or timeouts. Received my email order acknowledment soon after at 11:01 AM (CST). Only wish my previous tries went this smooth.
This was the most difficult transaction I’ve had with the Mint, but I was finally able to place an order for 3 of each after multiple tries…’Bad Gateway’…’Please Verify You Are Human’…multiple attempts at ‘Press and Hold.’ The only reason it took so long (~25 minutes) for both the Peace and Morgan Silver Dollars to sell out, is that likely EVERYBODY who ordered also ran into these same website issues. Sorry for the collectors who could not get through, and congratulations to those who persevered and were successful. Here is the message from the Mint’s website – how many people… Read more »
Kaiser —
Once again I don’t have any clue what I got IF I got anything. I kept getting re-load, browser reset required, and any other number of “communicationus interruptus” errors. Next time I guess I’ll just have to take some of those little blue pills to make my fingers stiffer.
I feel like I once again competed in the US Mint Olympics in the “We Keep Moving the Finish Line to Somewhere Else in the Stadium” event.
I’ll let you know IF I actually got something …

Kaiser — Fasten your seat belt. I tried like an SOB to get just one Peace and one Morgan dollar. But when I got an updated checkout basket note with a “confirm order” on it I just booked it, knowing full well that to try to change it would be to lose it. I had no idea of what, if any, I got. But in the end I actually got 3 Peace and 2 Morgans. Then this morning I got a note from my daughter (who knows how important this thing was to me). Unknown to me was that she… Read more »

I was hoping it would be a much smoother process because I did that, but it still told me the page was missing about 5 times when I hit the final payment button. I had to keep going back to the checkout button in my cart and try checking out again and again. Same as last time. The only difference disabling the ad blocker seemed to make was I didnt… Read more »
The U.S. Mint could replace the American Silver Eagles with a Morgan and/or Peace coin. I think people would be happy with that, rather than having an ASE, Morgan and Peace bullion coins each year. But you never know. The public needs to let the Mint know what it likes, and doesn’t.
I wouldn’t mind them producing them again provided it was only one of each (Morgan and Peace) and they allowed enrollments so we don’t have to go through this preorder scramble BS every year.
never underestimate the US Mint when it comes to executing “cheap money grabs”. look at the quarter program back in 1999. at first it was just the 50 states which was cool. then they extended it for the 6 territories, ok fine. then they decided to do the whole thing again with 56 national parks, ehh it’s getting old. and although this year they have reverted to the new ‘normal’ quarter design, that’s only going to last a few months before a whole new set of ‘american women’ quarters coming out next year until 2025. and either it will get… Read more »
I swear to GOD!!! If the mint did nothing with the quarter, all you would hear is “thats the USMint for ya, same ol coins all the time, never wanting to change things up” Some people will never be satisfied….
there is a law for coinage that states a new circulating (non-commemorative) design could not be made any sooner than every 25 years, and after that it can be done at the mint’s discretion. for the mint’s first 200 years, they pretty much stuck to that, with very few exceptions. and what exceptions did happen had to be a law passed by congress, to get around the 25 year limitation. the reason for 25 years minimum for each design was to have consistency in order to avoid counterfeits being able to get accepted – as coin design changes were so… Read more »
2026 is the 250th anniversary of U.S. Independence. That’s the design for the quarter, and maybe other denominations as well. I still have bicentennial quarters I spend in my change. lol.
oh yeah, i forgot about the upcoming ‘sestercentennial’ (yeah, I had to look that up).
if the mint could bring themselves to do it, reissuing the same designs they had back in 1976 might be nice.
Got a Captcha for the first time this morning right at 9:00 am (PT). After clicking on the pictures with a truck 3 times, finally got to the product list. Put 2 Peace in my inbox, and then got kicked out three times with a bad gateway message. Went back in and got 1 Morgan in my cart. Then did a quick check out without any issues, went through the payment and confirmation process with no problems, and got my confirmed email by 9:02 am (PT). Now I can start anticipating the problems on August 24th. My 2021 ASE from… Read more »
Well! Was in at 9 and FINALLY was able to check out with 1 of ea at 9:20!!! Sooo many page not found after confirmation…….thats what made it so frustrating. WHAT exactly did the website fix??? I should have tried for 2 of ea to swap with since ive been layed up and missed out on D AND S. Oh well…not meant to be. Not bad i got 4 of the releases anyway. Still …. That website continues to be underperforming!!
took a few minutes but I was able to get 3 Peace Dollars after 3 or 4 bad gateways. Now the wait for the confirmation email begins and the order history web page to come back online
The US Mint has gotten better at handling sales. I was able to order each from a Biergarten in Germany, on my phone with relative ease!
Kudos!

It took 25 minutes and I was just about to give up, but finally got my order through. I must have hit the Place Order icon 25 times, numerous Page Not Found messages. It’s ridiculous, they spent nearly 2 months trying to fix these issues.
Same here – crazy…
Please let me know how I can still order the Peace and Morgan dollars.
The mint sold the entire allotment of 375,000 coins in 29 minutes. There will be some available in the secondary market but they won’t be cheap.
Success at 1208 after abandoning my laptop for a different browser on my phone to complete the order!
Anyone else get a survey after last week’s release? Appears my feedback has not been received yet!
Logged in, double checked the credit card, waited until noon, ordered one Peace first, followed up with one more of today’s Morgan, bounced out three times, finally checked back in. On the 3rd try I’m in but the totals in the checkout tally were with the quantities of 3 and 3, not 1 and 1 like I ordered. Lesson learned, the fewer clicks on the US Mint online ordering site the better. Take what you can get if you can get it and avoid making more entries, even corrective quantity entries. The site remembered me but it didn’t remember my… Read more »
I was on the phone at 11:15 called the US mint just to ask them if the web page is going to go down. Got the recording and it says wait for the next available agent to take your call at 11:59 she answered my call and I asked her if the web site will go down she said no it will not go down. She said call back in one minute I did and got nothing but a busy signal.I was also on line trying to order them and it was like watching Bozo’s Circus nothing but a big joke.
Oh, so of course I tried to check out my order online at the mint and it says:
“Order History is currently offline. Please check again at a later time.”
Multiple errors on check out bad gateways after 26 minutes I was able to get 1 each now I have the complete set.
Just curious. Did you place your order through the phone web browser?
You still trying to buy this garbage that the mint is selling….no thanks!!! The whole collection is a collectors items non-collectors item bunch of trash… They can keep it…wait till you get the order canceled message from the mint….
That’s the cross of a collector to bear.
Gotta have them all or the “collection” isn’t complete.
Coin collecting as an investment falls within the Greater Fool Theory. To make money, you are hoping to find someone more foolish than yourself. Judging by the website performance and selling out of product, there is an abundance of fools, so maybe this Trash, isn’t the garbage you think it is.
Is order processing a confirmed order?
We should get a confirmation email after the order acknowledgment email.
Over 3 hrs after, and I still havent received the “we received your order” (uh oh) nor conf email … patience …
My order acknowledgement email came about a minute after the order went through. Did you get the “Thank you for your order” page after the final submission. If so, you should be ok. As finicky as their system is I guess you never know when the emails will finally come through.
Yeah, got an order number and saw the “test” charge on my CC. But … ya never know.
Rob S
I’m waiting for the email also.
got the “thank you for your order page”. Got a pending charge on my CC, though that will disappear in a couple days.
Order status in my account shows processing, but I can’t view the order details.
Not sure what all that means, but I hope it doesn’t eventually mean ‘cancelled’
This seems to be the norm lately. The last Morgan order I didn’t get an email till 2:00 am on one of my orders. I also currently show processing on today’s order. I never am confident till they are in my hand.
6.5 hrs later, got the confirm email (not the acknowledge email, but thats fine). 8)
No. You should get another email from Mint stating your order has been confirmed. Processing email came over quickly at 12:05amET and the confirmation email came at 5:58pmET.
I don’t know for sure but it seams the process is much more smother on PC. Just my observation.
Was fortunate to complete my order at 12:24, after the numerous re-sign ins, human bots, page not found, etc. What did seem to work, finally, was charging to another card, although, funds were there on original order. Perhaps, that was the time and message of “no handshake error”. Then went through fairly quick. Perseverance and not quitting was rewarded. Until I had seen “no longer available” I was still in mix and grateful. I commend all collectors whose comments here encourage and their best wishes to those succeeding, even when they themselves did not, they are the real collectors who… Read more »
I only collect one of each. I thought about 3 Peace dollars but decided I’d have to sell the other two to make up for the cost and I only need one coin to complete a collection. I’ve been collecting since 1967 and have always done it that way, except for the bicentennial coins in 1976. Wow! They’re really valuable today. A lesson learned.
Lol if that isn’t the truth. I used to collect stamps too. Another lesson. Comic books. Another lesson.
If only I had saved all those Baseball Cards from the 60’s instead of using them to make cool sounds on my bicycle wheels! Ugh!
Those 5 cent wax packs with that wad of gum. The only reason for those mint cards was to replace the trashed ones. Good times.
Well 4 hours later still no confirmation email after i got my order confirmation processed screen and order number. Hopfully everything went thru. Frustrating
Domenic,
The ‘confirmation email’ can take up to 24 hours to arrive, so please just relax. With the ‘S’ and ‘D’ minted Morgans, I didn’t receive my first one (I ordered each separately) until 3:45AM the next day! I, for one, am glad these are in the past now.
Now that i think of it…..i wonder how many of us might have additional orders that went thru after hitting confirm order and then it went to a page not found. Possible? I was trying 3 cc so….
Got my ‘Your US Mint order has been confirmed’ for the 3 Peace Dollars. Now waiting for confirmation of the Morgan dollars.
