IT’S ALL ABOUT THE NUMBERS – HERE ARE SOME NUMBERS THAT DON’T ADD UP SEE IMAGE BELOW
SENZA, you’re first again! \O/
Antonio & SENZA,
What’s up with that? I was of the obviously misguided belief that SENZA was supposed to be the official “First To Comment On Thread Award” Presenter rather than its all too consistent Winner!
It’s all a misunderstanding
Yep, and I was born yesterday.
It was not my intention to be first rather to share those not so above the board numbers however, thank you so much.
SENZA, potentially the pastor of The Megachurch Of We Don’t Want Your Money But In Jesus’ Name We’ll Be More Than Happy To Take Every Cent Of It.
Sign up for his free daily messages – there are encouraging and occasionally comical – no religion or religious preference required.
.
I love these guys. Do they ever present an accurate portrayal of sleazy present day snake-oil-selling preachers or what?
SENZA,
Talk about tax scofflaws. Shysters like this are at the head of the pack! Tens of millions of dollars of income a year with nary a tax liability to show for it. Essentially robs from the poor (his congregation) to profit the rich (himself). I would hazard a guess he’s one of those not following the camel through the needle to heaven.
I think we are long overdue for some flipping and some whipping
SENZA old buddy,
That is some powerfully dramatic vision you presented there!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_QLzthSkfM
You’re right, I like these numbers better:
National Purple Heart Hall of Honor 2022 Colorized Silver Dollar West Point (W) Commemorative Coin Program
Price = $95.00 and HOL = 1
This product will be available for sale on March 24, 2022, at 12 noon (ET).
Good Sir Rich,
What’s your guess for the duration of this sale? Five minutes? Maybe.
Sir Kaiser, for a conservative estimate, I think they will sell out in about 6-12 hours. As I recall, I thought the Negro Leagues Baseball Privy Proof would sell out within 24 hours, and it sold out in 24 hours and 2 minutes (approximately).
https://milesperday.com/2022/03/mint-coin-opportunity-on-thursday-march-24/
Flippers gonna flip. The NLB privy didn’t have a buyers club. This colorized Purple Heart Silver Dollar will sellout quickly
The thing that gives me the squirts is that these pricks are going to ruin the collecting process for actual numismatics, all so they can make $25.
That is bugger all, but they will absolutely break the hearts of us.
Good Sir Rich,
And to think I was about to quip those coins would go one sale at exactly High Noon and be gone by the time that first minute ends.
Considering your previous prognostication was spot on, I’m now betting you are most likely right this time also, so twenty-four hours it is!
I am going to venture a guess that the coins will be gone within an hour. I have not been approached by the usual flipper suspects but that does not mean demand does not exist within our fine coin collecting community.
I will be happy update my post tomorrow to “eat crow” but I will be inline at 12 PM to procure a coin for my heirs.
Good luck to all tomorrow!
Thanks, TheKings174, and wishing you the best of luck tomorrow. Especially if your prediction and SENZA’s and Sir Kaiser’s (initial) predictions come to fruition, we will all need all the luck we can get. Down with the Bots!
Good Sir Rich,
If ever we design official Coinnews Commenting Collector
patches, “Down With The Bots” should be the embroidered motto.
TheKings714,
I hope you are able to acquire one, and there will be no eating of crow on the Kaiser’s watch. Pigeon, maybe.
Exactly HOL = 1, Not more than 10 Available
SENZA,
I hope we weren’t annexed by the State of Denmark overnight since in that case it would be no surprise that there might well be something rotten here.
I got 5 of these in the mail today – only 1 piece of bubble wrap that protected nothing and dents and dings in all 5 white boxes – some things never change. I’ve sold 3 so far each at over $200.00 a box
SENZA, are you saying you actually got four times the Mint’s original price for each of the boxes you sold? Holy caramba, Batman!
Almost 5 times the US Mint price per box until I got Feebayed and they took their slice.
SENZA.
Do you think your customers are the final buyers or could they possibly be resellers also? It’s just that I can’t imagine who down the line would pay the ebay price plus whatever these folks would add to account for their own profit. It begins to go past boggling the mind, my friend.
Collector’s and dealers bought from me – one thing I won’t do is open up rolls and bags and sell individual coins so I do get some dealers who buy bulk from me and they in-turn sell individual coins. Another guy was one of the orders I canceled and he came back and paid more than double because he was a collector and he wanted that set. The buyers who’s orders I cancelled were very understanding – the word got out quick that the US Mint did this to everyone and people who buy from me know me for offering… Read more »
SENZA, at least you’re an Honest Flipper!
Excellent observation and comparison with the 2.5 oz Navy Silver Medal, which by the way, both product offerings’ availability are limited to 25,000 ounces of Silver (my bad pun).
Good Sir Rich,
Good catch on the total amount of silver “definition”. I clearly missed that point, so good eyes there, my friend!
Major D,
Very sound reasoning indeed. The only way that prediction could go awry is if the coin versus medal factor makes an inordinate amount of difference.
Don’t count out these alleged Households
Finally, SENZA, an inside look at the Brooklyn Buying Group, some of the twenty-thousand-plus of them. But where are all the rabbis hiding?
Kaiser
Let’s keep the anti Semitic stuff off these comments- and please stop the WOKE , Liberal lunacy that’s being posted here . I actually enjoy your coin posting . Please leave the other stuff out .
You handled that quite amazingly – I no longer even feel the urge to tell him to go suck it – well maybe a little bit
Bravo! Encore! Sir Kaiser!
Well, it looks like the Mint selling out products through the Enrollment Program is their new modus operandi. It appears that’s how it will also go down this year for the three 2022 Silver American Eagle W & S Proofs and the W Uncirculated. Here is the email just receive from the mint announcing 2022 American Eagle Program Nearly Sold Out On Enrollment Enroll Today – While Inventory Remains For the first time in Mint history, the 2022 American Eagle Silver One Ounce Proof Coin (S) and the 2022 American Eagle Silver One Ounce Uncirculated Coin (W) have sold out… Read more »
Good Sir Rich,
Those remaining 2022 ASE-W Proofs must be going fast as evidenced by the Release-Day-type safeguards in place on the Mint’s website at the moment. I had to prove my humanity to the site’s satisfaction before I could take even touch my Enrollment Order.
Well that didn’t last long; the Mint is always “a day late and a dollar short”
And now even the American Eagle Silver One Ounce Proof West Point (W) Coin is gone (Not Available).
Good Sir Rich,
I’m not all surprised this is the case. As I stated previously, when I went there today to enhance my Enrollment the site definitely had the feel of a sales day.
Rich and Kaiser, I reserved 5 of each Eagle via enrollments but don’t dare pre-sell anything from the US Mint anymore. Plus, we now know that enrollments really are not enrollments – they have no guarantee of delivery and no faith and trust of the US Mint, at least for me. Along with Kaisers inquiry into the sell out of tomorrows colorized coin I would like to ask how long you think the current Mint Director’s Tenure will last – I have a feeling the days are numbered? Kaiser, put me down for 12 minutes – I think the Colorized… Read more »
“True dat” SENZA. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the 2 each enrollment orders I have on the three 2022 ASEs. As for my predictions, to be on the Conservative side, I think the Colorized Purple Heart Silver Dollar will sell out in 6 to 12 hours, and I give Ventris Gibson 6 to 12 months (being its an election year).
Good Sir Rich and SENZA old buddy, Putting the ASEs and the Colorized Dollar aside for the moment, I will instead weigh in with thoughts about Ventris Gibson’s projected tenure at the Mint. I think Ms. Gibson will be there at the very least until there is a new President in the White House. I say that precisely because her job quite obviously consists much less of being in the service of the coin collecting community and significantly more of fulfilling the circulating coin needs of the Federal Reserve and the demand for bullion of the big dealer wholesale and… Read more »
I hope your correct – my cholesterol is a bit too high to be racing around the Internet at Noon tomorrow – an Easy Peasy would be nice for a change.
SENZA,
I think it’s prudent for you to hold off on pre-selling Mint products considering that facility’s new sales practices. While you may be just fine with Enrollments 5 set at 5 for each of the three varieties of ASEs, that quite likely can’t be viewed as an iron clad guarantee of what will in fact be allowed by the Mint in the final instance.
I know exactly what you mean
After last year’s “fun and excitement” trying to order items on the release date and looking at this year’s product schedule, I decided to only obtain those items I’ve been enrolled in for the past several years and added the AW quarter 3 roll set. Hopefully, the enrollment quantities don’t get screwed up. There wasn’t anything offered this year that interested me. I don’t do commemoratives unless it is a gift for someone associated with what is being commemorated. Gold proofs are beyond my price range, but I will buy one for a family member’s special occasion. The only exception… Read more »
Carl, since you mentioned an interest in the upcoming Limited Edition 2022 Silver Proof Set – San Francisco (S), I thought I would re-post this information in case you had not seen it — Details of the Set have just been provided in a Coin World US Coins News report (Mar 22, 2022):The eight-coin 2022 Limited Edition Proof Silver set scheduled for release sometime this fall by the U.S. Mint will be limited to an issue of 50,000 sets at $201 per set. The set will comprise a 2022-S Roosevelt dime, the first five American Women quarter dollars — recognizing… Read more »
Thanks Rich,
I knew what was in the set, but not the price. Seeing as how $235 was the 2021 price, if this year’s set stays at $201, it’s worth it in comparison. Who knows, if I get it maybe I’ll get all the coins. Unlike last years that was missing the Crossing the Delaware quarter.
Holy Toledo Carl, I remember your story of the missing Washington Crossing the Delaware quarter in the set you received. By the way for price comparisons, the big new deal with last year’s set was that it included 2 silver dollars for the first time, and that resulted in the set having a total silver content = 2.876 troy ounce at a price = $235. This years set will have a total silver content = 2.473 troy ounce at a price = $201
Speaking of prices I took a snapshot of this earlier while researching some product and 2018 was $55.00
Good thinking indeed, Carl. The path of least resistance is often, if not even usually, the best road taken. Not to mention that going for what you know – and what you know you want, for that matter – is not a bad idea either.
Best of luck with your approach, and an extra boost for getting one of those Limited Edition Proof Sets this year!
When the gold eagles went on sale there were 6300 of the Four Coin sets listed as available to online customers. With this release that availability number apparently included both stock-on-hand and those that will be struck in the back order period. So of a product limit of 10,000 as of Sunday night the mint sold 8703 and they are currently unavailable. “Unavailable” which according to the catalog site last week, means, “out-of stock and no more are expected to be minted”, but this week means, “We are currently out of this item, but more may be available later.“ The… Read more »
Kia99,
Those two are not necessarily contradictory statements. More AGE Four Coin Sets may be available later due to expired credit cards and/or product returns even though no more of the coins themselves are going to be minted.
Right, as for the 4-coin set only 8,703 had been sold from a product limit of 10,000 when it became unavailable within 5 minutes of its release. So even though it has been in the currently unavailable/not available “Remind Me” status, there is a good probability that more will become available soon (or in the Mint’ words, “We are currently out of this item, but more may be available later”). The same cannot be said however for the 1/2 ounce and 1/4 ounce coins since their sales figures are just shy of their respective product limits.
It’s all rigged for the dealers and NGC no use driving yourself crazy trying to make sense out of it
SENZA,
Just speaking philosophically, is it any better for us to level shouts of protest at the Mint or quietly accept its inevitable reality? I mean, since the Mint is only a miniscule piece of an enormous engine of institutionalized favoritism that spans roughly two hundred and fifty years and reaches literally from coast to coast, is there even anyone left to appeal to?
But But I would then have so much free time on my hands. I’m going to need a hobby! Hey maybe I will collect coins? Wait a minute I can’t collect coins because
Words of Wisdom Sir Kaiser, In fact, the Villains and those whom we seek Justice from do in my world, appear to be one in the same.
If not for the always Calculating Sir Rich to my left and the Wisdom of Sir Kaiser to my right – I would most certainly veer off the path. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xWr5U4hO3k
To paraphrase a Kyle Reese line in Terminator
Listen, and understand! The Mint is out there! It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear, or what you think. And it absolutely will not stop screwing us individual collectors….ever!
Holy S___ Carl. your right – it’s much worse than I thought –
Someone is going to have to terminate the Mint before they bring those coins to life – after they sneakily got us to let them into our homes.
Everyone thought it would be Robots but it’s Mintbots https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Ntksk9SpPs
A Priceless moment in CoinNews.net history. And Carl, you coined it!
And add to that trio description, the always Brave SENZA on point, conjuring up the team with heart, brains and courage on a journey down the golden path. All we need is Dorothy (and Toto)!
It’s going to be a Magical Journey for sure
