Palladium advanced on Monday while gold, silver and platinum declined. Silver logged a more than four-month low. Gold settled near 3-month low.
Gold for June delivery fell $24.20, or 1.3%, to settle at $1,858.60 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. The settlement was the lowest since Feb. 15 when gold ended at $1,856.20 an ounce.
"Rising bond yields are once again hitting the precious metals. Sharply lower crude oil prices today are also a negative for the metals markets,” Jim Wyckoff, a senior analyst at Kitco Inc, said in a daily research note.
Gold futures ranged from $1,854.80 to $1,885.60. They fell 1.5% last week.
Silver for July delivery lost 54.7 cents, or 2.5%, to close at $21.82 an ounce. The settlement was silver’s lowest since it ended Jan. 6 at $22.19 an ounce. Silver futures traded between $21.66 and $22.40. They dropped 3.1% last week.

July platinum gave back $17.50, or 1.8%, to $938.50 an ounce, ranging from $912.90 to $949.80.
- Palladium for June delivery rose $38.30, or 1.9%, to $2,061.50 an ounce, trading between $1,987 and $2,125.
Last week, platinum rose 1.8% while palladium sank 12.3%.
