Major D is here! Nice to hear from you, we have missed you. Glad you received your NLB commems today. My NLB Privy Proof Silver Dollar is out for delivery today and should be in my waiting hands in a couple of hours. I too am anxiously awaiting delivery of the NPH Colorized Silver Dollar which is expected to start shipping on July 14th. I hope you stay around and am looking forward to more of your comments
I sure hope you guys will post photos of your shiny new toyz I know I would love to see them and don’t forget to put them under your electron microscopes and look for errors
SENZA, I opened and marveled at the NLB Privy Proof Dollar. The privy mark shaped like a diamond showing “100” is so small you can barely see it with the naked eye, so posting a picture of it would not do it justice. Of the only two Mint silver coins with a privy mark, the End of World War II 75th Anniversary American Eagle Silver Proof Coin with the symbolic V75 privy mark is my favorite.
Yeah I’m having that problem with some coins I’m trying to list right now – camera just won’t do what I need.
2020 was a “Striking” year at the US Mint those Privy’s and the Mayflowers were just beautiful pieces
Have a good deal on air guitars? LOL.
We should all have one Antonio,
Here is a photo of an early model before they were actually made out of air.
🙂
I wish I could do that
That ain’t nothin’. I have one once played by Jimi Hendrix.
I remember that Concert – his guitar caught on fire and he had to play the air guitar for the rest of the gig
It was a memorable performance.
Maybe that’s why he kisses the sky
And there is always the very real Fender Tele-Sonic a rare offspring from a Disney remake that’s rather rare and part of my ever growing collection of things
Welcome back Major D, even if only for a limited time.
I would really love to have an Air Guitar to add to my Pocket Monster Collection . I see Feebay ads for A/I Vermont and even dealers are selling them at cost or a loss – they don’t even know you have to hold them for at least a couple years before you can get the huge 800% flips – with the big dealers making rookie mistakes like that it just reinforces my belief that they are all just a bunch of Money Mafia thugs. FIRST ON THREAD HONORS TO SIR KAISER………….THIS CERTIFICATE OF SUCCESS IS GOOD FOR ONE (1)… Read more »
Hello Major D,
It’s a pleasure to hear from you and to know you were thinking about all of us Talking Heads stuck in this coin blogatory – a lot of flippers and even some dealers who should but apparently didn’t know better got burned on the last American Innovation release. However, my sales have been up on that series as Jim Thorpe and the Military Native American coins as well as the Maryland A/I Rolls which are fetching $185 and up were Hot sellers for me in recent weeks.
the Mint’s page indicates the reverse proof no longer available. If you do the “data-available” method that also indicates no remaining sets. The Mint sales report indicates only 48470 sets have been sold, so either the mint is real slow reporting sales or who knows why – every time I looked the “data-available” always indicated more sales than the mint sales report.
Not sure if this helps, but the Mint’s sales report only takes into account sales through Sunday (May 8th), and doesn’t reflect any sales over the last 3 days.
The 2020 is the heavy hitter – I’m adding more sets as we speak – the proof sets are all that’s left – all the A/I coins for 2020 are hot, 3 of 4 are selling at 800% above US Mint release price – Connecticut is lagging in the secondary market but it’s only a matter of time.
Follow up – they would not apply my free shipping
This is how the dealers and graders (Money Mafia) screw up everything – why didn’t these experts know you can’t buy a fresh release and flip it for a profit????? They are experts at least according to themselves – very sad state of events
One example of many dealers selling at a loss
Sometimes you can get a good price from them versus the mint’s price. I’ve learned to wait and see. That said, the proof and burnished ASEs always gain in value compared to what they were sold for by the mint. That and the gold are the only cases (I’m not including platinum and palladium because mostly wealthy people, not collectors, buy them).
I’m a huge believer in that philosophy Antonio, I wait for the price I want to come to me and if it doesn’t it wasn’t meant to be- and I wrote that not Jim Morrison
It’s funny how none of the post have been about the half dollar release for 2022 on May 5th. At the time of the release the US Mint was offering free shipping in honor of those celebrating a graduation. The sales of the half dollars ended rather abruptly for both options. Yet, as soon as the free shipping ended, the half dollars were again available. The two roll set soon sold out, but here it is June 9th and the 200 bag option is still available. I suppose the US Mint realized how much money it was losing shipping the… Read more »
