Precious metal prices increased on Tuesday with advances ranging from 0.3% for gold to 2% for platinum. Silver and palladium marked their third straight sessions gains.
Gold for June delivery tacked on $4.90 to settle at $1,818.90 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.
"The metals [gold and silver] were supported by rising crude oil prices that hit a nine-week high earlier today, and sharp daily losses in the U.S. dollar index," Jim Wyckoff, a senior analyst at Kitco Inc, said in a daily research note.”
Gold futures traded between $1,815.90 and $1,834.80. They also edged 0.3% higher on Monday.
Silver for July delivery rose 19.9 cents, or 0.9%, to close at $21.75 an ounce. Silver futures ranged from $21.56 to $21.93. They surged 2.6% on Monday.

July platinum added $18.10 to $943.40 an ounce, trading between $923.20 and $950.10.
- Palladium for June delivery gained $29.60, or 1.5%, to $2,032.20 an ounce, ranging from $1,965 to $2,069.50.

How’d you know how much we’re paying for gas here? I keep telling people to cross the border to Mexico, gas is much cheaper there. Make sure you have a passport or passport card to get back though or you won’t be able to.

That’s good advice but I’d spend at least two tanks of gas just to get to the border ( Is that really a thing anymore?) I saw Mezack selling all 6 of the Morgan/Peace dollars for $599 on the CSN channel. These were just ‘ungraded’ coins which he claimed would grade anywhere from MS68 to MS70. Now I know Mike may be one of the most virtuous and honest individuals to ever walk on this planet, but even I had to laugh. I’d bet you’d be lucky if any graded MS68.
I’m glad I got in under the wire and already have them from the mint. I’d watch them rise and fall before I make any price judgements. Just having them is a privilege for me, along with my 1995W ASE.

I have to agree that these ‘sold out enrolments’ are a scam. I would normally put away 10 of the Uncirculated ASE’s, but having to pay nearly $70 for one is a bit too much. I’ve decided to reduce my enrolment to just two of them. I’ve said this before, in 2006 I bought the Uncirculated ASE for just $19.95. In 16 years we now have to pay $67, The Fed is doing a great job of converting the Dollar into a Peso.
