May is looking like another mostly quiet month for the United States Mint, with only four confirmed days earmarked for new product launches, one more than in April.
Upcoming collectibles include medals in bronze and silver, Kennedy half dollars, and the year’s West Point-struck uncirculated American Silver Eagle.
May 1: Abraham Lincoln Presidential Silver Medal
In honor of the 16th President of the United States, the U.S. Mint will release the 1-ounce, .999 fine Abraham Lincoln Presidential Silver Medal for $75 on May 1.
Sales of past medals in the series have ranged from about 11,350 for the most recent one depicting James Buchanan to nearly 34,000 for the inaugural silver medal celebrating George Washington.
May 11: U.S. Coast Guard Bronze Medal
Recently discussed here, the U.S. Coast Guard bronze medal, depicting the service’s history, values, and missions, is set to be released on May 11 for $20 as part of U.S. Mint series that honors the six branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Previously in the series, the Mint released the Coast Guard medal in 2.5-ounce and 1-ounce silver sizes, with the former limited to 10,000 units and now sold out. The latter is still available for purchase at $75 and has sales of 15,384 units as of April 16.
May 15: Kennedy Half Dollars in Rolls and Bags
The U.S. Mint’s annual release of the current year’s Kennedy half dollar is scheduled for May 15. Product options include Philadelphia- and Denver-struck halves in a two-roll set (40-coins) for $34.50 and a 200-coin bag for $147.
Before selling out, options for last year’s half dollar reached combined sales of 3,074,680 coins, up from the prior year’s total of 2,871,720 coins.
May 25: 2023-W Uncirculated American Silver Eagle
On May 25th, the always-anticipated uncirculated American Silver Eagle from the West Point Mint will be available for $76. Annually issued, the uncirculated coin has a history dating back to 2006. When all is said and done, around 200,000 are expected to be sold.

I sure am glad the mint created the ‘Waiting Room’ this year. I hope the employees that operate this can get a break soon, as they have been working as furiously as our beloved Biden. Anyone else losing optimism in this years Morgan/Peace Dollar offerings? I’m dismayed that they are still available for subscription after all these months! I don’t see how Mike Mezack, the righteous King of Numismatics, will be able to use “rare'” when selling these on HSN…or is their faltering sales a sign of economic head winds blowing our way. Time will tell.
You obviously no very little about our justice system as Trump has only been charged with some lame, frivolous book keeping “crime.” As far as I’m aware, people are innocent until proved guilty by a jury of their peers. And are you really that dim witted to think he’s the only person to ever have had an extra martial affair? Hell, isn’t that one of the benefits of being a billionaire?
Don’t let the rigged mint statistics fool you. Just last night Magic Mike said they are already sold out but he still has a few 2022 Fiji Morgan/Peace dollars available for the savvy investor.
Nearly all politicians are corrupt influence peddlers but since they write the laws their corruption is not technically illegal. Now that Bragg has opened the door on political prosecutions it’s ‘Katey bar the door.’ Stock up on popcorn the fun is just beginning.
NTG is a foolish and harmless sideshow that will never make it to the big top. I worry more about those wishing to save democracy by destroying it.
Kaiser, As I’ve only purchased 1 coin from the mint this year, I couldn’t tell you whether masks are mandatory or not. I still see some folks out and about wearing them, which is their choice to make. Why do you consider the 2021 Morgan/Peace dollars as replicas? I thought the New Orleans and Carson City “privy marks” were somewhat suspect , but they are officially a $1 US coin. I doubt that I’ll ever use one to buy a pack of gum. Mezack is asking $1800 for a 6 coin Fiji Morgan/Peace set graded RP70, of course, and claims… Read more »
200,000 expected to be sold. Seems like a low number. That is even less than the 2016 w walking liberty gold coin. According to Rick anyway. Maybe all the scalpers are broke and can’t buy this year. Hopefully they got stuck and can’t sell their ill gotten bot coins. Think I’m gonna save some more money this month and next. Might even reduce my morgan and peace subscription. It does seem odd they haven’t sold. I’ll keep my eye on hsn and see if good Ole mike is hawking any advance release Ms 70 with exclusive label yet. I forgot… Read more »
Depends. Are those 2 bits ms70 and limited edition and fdoi?
D & C,
Don’t get Lemon & Carlson confused – Don Lemon is a wealthy, black, gay man from CNN & Tucker Carlson is a wealthy, white, straight man from Fox News. Both fired on the same day without warning. Crazy!
Maybe they could get a job on cable t.v. on HSN and sell overpriced coins…

Uncirculated Morgan finally sold out (well at least under subscription)
assuming 10% for the day of the sale that leaves 27,500 left
Peace Unc around 700 left.
I originally had subscribed to 1 then increased to 2 when the took the limits off and the coins were selling like hot cakes, and then in the last month it took forever to sell the couple of thousand. I dropped back down to 1 each.
I like trends. Benchmarks. Dude on eBay had zero bids this week on 2021 CC Privy Morgan WITH BOX/COA MINT CODE 21XC $249. Now re-auctioning same coin. Same price. {0 bids}, as I type. FWIW. Sorry about the coin news, there. Interrupted your political B.S. I know! Come to an alleged coin website … spammed with politics! When I sign onto this site, I get a pop-up window saying, basically, “We’d love to hear from you.” Boys, boys, boys, and, yes, self-professed senior elites … after much observation … I see another trend. This site, as it has evolved, is… Read more »
HI J S, Sorry to see you go. You hung on a long time after SENZA. I would say this political stuff comes and goes in waves. Also, I figured by now you would know which posters you consider the biggest offenders and just ignore their posts. A lot easier to do with written posts than verbal or visual. Even in political threads here there is sometimes good coin info. I found the recent posts about the mint audit and about Palladium useful even though they veered into politics. Well, it is your choice and I do not blame you… Read more »
Because politics never influenced metals. Gubmint never confiscated coins or metals. Gubmint never strayed from the gold backed dollar. Gubmint never sanctioned gold from certain countries (definitely not russia). It is the policies and views of the elected that draw such comments and topics of discussion. Just like oil. Go to an oil site and it’ll cover nothing but oil. They won’t discuss how sanctions will affect only Americans and deliver record profit to say, I don’t know russia. It’s good to know the big guy is getting his 10% and has helped China and other enemies secure oil on… Read more »
But wait, there’s more presidential medals to come. Let me just clarify, that’s medals, not metals. 😛
I think you were a bit hard on J S here, Kaiser Wilhelm. He basically just gave his opinion (everyone is entitled) and reason for leaving and I thought it was pretty mild. He did not even name any names. He could very well be pointing at or including my posts in his critique but I was not offended. He made it clear at least two years ago that he only wants coins discussed here. I hold a different opinion. I am not sure any site, company or individual can completely avoid politics anymore, and I do not think they… Read more »
We are two sides of the same coin. There is no resolution without truth and sincerity. But it seems many keep moving the goalposts or talk out of both sides of their neck. I hate to see JS go, but in all fairness I only recall one or two posts from him. As far as him leaving, you said he made it clear ago just talk coins, but yet he was recently here. I too am tired of politics and division and finger pointing and accusations. That is why I came to this site. But it wasn’t long before opinions… Read more »
