Precious metals advanced as a group on Tuesday, with gains ranging from 0.6% for gold to 3.5% for palladium.
Gold for February delivery tacked on $11.60 to settle at $2,052.10 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gold futures traded between $2,034.80 and $2,061. On Monday, gold prices edged up by 0.2%.
Meanwhile, silver for March delivery rose by 21.4 cents, or 0.9%, to end at $24.321 an ounce. Silver futures ranged from $24.04 to $24.48. They shed 0.2% on Monday.
