Tuesday witnessed little fluctuation in precious metal prices, as gold, silver, and platinum showed minor upticks, while palladium experienced a slight decrease.
Up for the first time in three sessions, gold for April delivery rose by $8.50, or 0.4%, to settle at $2,051.40 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.
"The important outside markets are in a bullish posture for the metals markets on this day. The U.S. dollar index is weaker, crude oil prices higher and U.S. Treasury yields have down-ticked,” Jim Wyckoff, a senior analyst at Kitco Inc, said in a daily research note.
Gold futures traded between $2,038.80 and $2,055.30. On Monday, they gave back 0.5%.
Meanwhile, silver for March delivery edged up by 5.6 cents, or 0.3%, ending at $22.478 an ounce. Silver futures ranged from $22.34 to $22.58. They slipped by 1.6% on Monday

April platinum added $7.50, or 0.8%, to $911 an ounce, trading between $899.70 and $915.40.
- Palladium for March delivery declined by $4.70, or 0.5%, to $951.40 an ounce, ranging from $936 to $968.
