U.S. Mint data shows an increase in purchases of its numismatic products during the several days around July 4th, with 130 of them outperforming their sales from the previous week, compared to 41 previously. Additionally, 5 products registered week-over-week increases of more than 1,000 units, compared to 2 in the prior report.
The 2024 Silver Proof Set led the gains. The 10-coin set logged its first full week of sales, rising by another 4,911 to reach 148,676, following its initial four-day debut of 143,765.
Still, the new total is lower than the start of any previous set over their first few days. Furthermore, the set is not getting help moving forward, as its price (along with other silver products) just increased from $130 to $150.

In its latest report, the U.S. Mint published sales data for 464 numismatic products. Two products recorded negative weekly sales, the same as in the previous report. The 2024-W Uncirculated Silver Eagle dropped by 7,926, while the 2024-P Liberty & Britannia Silver Medal fell by 8.

Guess they thought with the announcement folks would scoop up coins before the price increase. HAH! Already overpriced pre-increase!. All i look forward to now is the annual Morgan and Peace Dollars. By cutting EVERYTHING else out i can, for now, continue to collect my favorite 2 coins…..sad i had to drop all the ASE coins and the silver proof sets in the process but oh well….my pockets are not bottomless US MINT!

The Mint managed to corral me into buying one each of the 2024-S and 2023-S Silver Proof Sets. I held out until the day before the price increase and then caved.
At least we know that you have no will power Kaiser. Of course, others will say you’re a collector, and price be damned you want your coins. Enjoy them!
