The Whitman Expos™ Baltimore Winter Expo, a premier coin and collectibles show, will take place at the Baltimore Convention Center from November 14-16, 2024. Celebrating over 50 years in the numismatic community, the event will feature nearly 1,000 independent dealers offering free appraisals, expert insights, and opportunities for collectors to buy, sell, and trade rare coins and other collectibles.

Open to the public with free admission (with photo ID), the expo provides a trusted marketplace for enthusiasts. Attendees can learn the value of their coins from seasoned dealers, while coin authentication and grading services will be available on-site from Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC®) and Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS).

"This event is about more than just collecting coins," said Lori Kraft, general manager of Whitman Expos. "It’s about community, history, and education. For over 50 years, the Baltimore community has warmly welcomed us, and we look forward to offering the best experience for years to come."

The expo will also feature family-friendly activities, including the popular “Kids Nook,” where children aged 6 to 12 can participate in interactive coin activities. Additionally, scouts can attend a workshop on November 16 to complete merit badge requirements and Cub Scouts can earn the Adventures in Coins elective. Pre-registration for this workshop is required.

For those seeking early access, early-bird entry is available before public hours. Public admission runs from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

A major highlight will be an auction by Stack’s Bowers Galleries, showcasing rare coins from several notable collections, including coins from the Robert D. Reed, Bernard Richards, Darrel O. Neidigh, Jr, and Ross Family Collections as well as the recently publicized ‘Chapman Set’ of Gold Dollars. Many of these coins have been off the market for decades, offering a unique opportunity for collectors. For more details, visit www.stacksbowers.com.

Sounds like a fabulous convention with a little bit each of something for all ages and for everybody interested in any aspect of coin collecting. It’s nice to know events like this exist.

I’ve always wanted/wished I could go to a big coin show. I bet it is almost overwhelming to see so many coin people (collectors, lol), booths and Coins!! I think it would be so Kewl! This Baltimore Show show be a great experience plus the 2024 FHG will be available for purchase & on the spot grading!! Some of the FHG will have the Baltimore Show added to their labels which for some reason gives the coin/medal an extra bump in price. Should be a lot of fun. Someday, hopefully before I croak, I’d love to attend one of these… Read more »

You can see the good stuff at these large shows. I saw an authentic Confederate Half Dollar at one show I went to. A real highlight to see it.
