The Perth Mint experienced a strong rebound in Australian bullion product sales during November, with gold and silver reaching their highest monthly levels in over a year. Gold sales posted their best performance since June 2023 (17 months), while silver sales achieved their highest level since October 2023 (13 months). These gains highlight significant month-over-month and year-over-year growth, although year-to-date totals for both metals remain well below 2023 levels.
Neil Vance, General Manager of Minted Products at the Perth Mint, highlighted the impact of the 2025 Australian Kangaroo bullion series on November sales.
"The Kangaroo collection is one of our most popular bullion series and is always sought after by investors and collectors," Vance remarked.
He also noted strong demand for 1 oz gold bars throughout the month.
The Mint’s sales were further influenced by sharp declines in precious metals during November, as LBMA prices (in USD) dropped 3% for gold and 8.6% for silver.
Perth Mint Gold Bullion Sales in November 2024
Gold coin and bar sales at The Perth Mint surged to 58,136 ounces in November, marking a 94.2% increase from October and an 8.6% rise compared to November 2023.
Year-to-date gold sales total 359,879 ounces, a 42.8% decline from the 629,592 ounces sold during the same period last year.
Perth Mint Silver Bullion Sales in November 2024
November sales of minted silver coins and bars reached 1,055,657 ounces, reflecting a 95.5% jump from October and a 57% increase from November 2023.
Year-to-date silver sales stand at 8,756,073 ounces, down 38.4% from the 14,215,074 ounces recorded during the same period last year.
