Players of the new mobile video game EIGHTH ERA™ have an opportunity to acquire NGC-certified MS70 examples of the 2025 American Silver Eagle bullion coins with the new eagle-in-flight privy mark via gameplay and in-game tournaments beginning April 7, 2025.

Many of EIGHTH ERA’s major characters including the ASE-inspired character Golden Griffin, levels of play, and rewards are inspired by historical coins. Created by gaming publisher and developer Nice Gang® (www.NiceGang.com), the innovative game is free to play and available to download on iOS and Android devices.
Starting April 7, reach level 7 to unlock the exclusive chance to purchase NGC-certified MS70 ASEs – now featuring the bold new eagle-in-flight privy mark while supplies last.

For gamers and coin collectors seeking a competitive experience, ASEs with the new eagle-in-flight privy mark can also be won by competing in the tournament-style competition which can be unlocked once a player reaches level 6.
Held over a two-week period, tournament winners who achieve first place in the level 41-60 bracket will receive an EIGHTH ERA gold gilted hero coin, in addition to an ASE with eagle-in-flight privy mark. In collaboration with the United States Mint (www.USMint.gov), the coins available to EIGHTH ERA players will be among the first 50,000 released.
"EIGHTH ERA has truly struck a chord with collectors and gamers alike. Coin collectors who’ve never played a video game are now some of our top players. Thanks to their continued support, we are excited to offer our loyal fanbase and new players these beautiful collectible silver eagles for free through tournaments and at a reduced price, which includes Numismatic Guaranty Company (www.NGCcoin.com) certification and shipping costs," said Jason Wasserman, Nice Gang Co-Founder.
"Each NGC-encapsulated coin in this promotion will have a special EIGHTH ERA insert label with, appropriately, a depiction of the game’s eagle character, the Golden Griffin. The words ‘FIRST EAGLE PRIVY RELEASE’ and ‘ONE OF FIRST 50,000 RELEASED’ are also on the label," announced Wasserman.
"We experienced such a high demand for our first Silver Eagle promotion, that we couldn’t wait to share this special coin with our players. The United States Mint American Silver Eagle with the eagle-in-flight privy mark is a groundbreaking collectible," stated Mark Salzberg, Co-Founder of Nice Gang, Certified Collectibles Group (CCG) and NGC.
"EIGHTH ERA was created to help attract a new generation to coin collecting as well as provide informative, enjoyable entertainment to current collectors. Since its recent launch, the game has garnered more than 150,000 downloads since October," said Salzberg.
Set 10,000 years in the future, EIGHTH ERA takes players on an epic role-playing adventure through perilous past worlds to collect forgotten pieces of history and save the future from an evil AI. It provides endless entertainment for both the hardcore and casual players.
Players have the chance to win numismatic rewards, such as exclusive certified coins and special medallions that depict some of the game’s more than 50 playable characters. New hero medallions are released monthly for players to win.

Here we go again, and that’s fine?
However, we know who will get the overwhelming majority of these “One of First 50k Issued” slabs.
Less than a thousand, more like 500 of these ‘may’ go to the gamers who don’t really care about coins, and the rest go to the APBulksters. I guess that’s fine too?
NGC, they’re killin’ it…..
Luckily for me, these appear to be uncirculated. Maybe I should get one of my gaming kids to get their Old Pappy one of those slabs.
More Mint Madness. Hopefully, this wasn’t Mint Director Gibson’s parting shot to the coin collecting community.
Rick,
Man have the ASE 2020 V75 privies dropped in price…eBay has a PR 70 for just $599 and some ungraded for under $300. You can buy a MS69 2024 ASE star privy ‘one of 1st 50,000’ for under $60, if you are so inclined. Are collectors starting to realise that when 500,000 coins are pressed this doesn’t make them rare?
Craig, I’ve been a little surprised about the secondary market performance of the 2020 V75 PF ASE’s as well. With a mintage of less than 75,000 and such a widely collected series, this may be.a sleeper? I think(?) if I’m not mistaken, this is the 3rd lowest minted Ty 1 ASE in the proof/numismatic series, behind only the 2019 S Enhanced Reverse Proof and 1995 W Proof which came in at just under and just over 30,000 each respectively. As far as the 2024 (P) ASE’s w/ Star Privy go, this has been a prime example of how the labels… Read more »
CaliSkier, Thank you for all the detailed information, I always enjoy reading your comments. I agree with you on your summation that folks are more interested in buying a ‘label’ as opposed to buying a coin. I occasionally watch Magic Mike’s coin show and am always amazed at how long he talks about a graded coins label versus the actual coin. And, of course, they never cease to come up with new ‘highly desirable and coveted’ labels to hawk! BTW, I’m also thinking of picking up one of those 2020 V75 ASE’s. While I don’t consider 75.000 to be anywhere… Read more »
Cali thanks for all the information, another contrived “rarity” for the gamers among us…like none? A la Superman issue, these are a dead end for the base….
I poo-pood the Black label/8th era slabbed Star ASE’s when AK gave us the tip from the Shark site, and he let me have it! He & Cali proved me wrong with that label play! I’m not a serious ASE collector, and the Star, Eagle, etc, etc privy bullion still don’t do anything for me, collector-wise. However! Last night I looked at the Shark site to find pre-sales, and no-go. If there is a flip potential on these, I’ll take the bait this go-around.
As far as the 2020-W v75 Proof ASE, I did pick one up early last year when I had money to burn.
I think it was a fair price at my favorite auction house at the time…..
…
Technical difficulties for the pic, anyway…
$433 for the v75 ASE
…First Strike 70, FWIW…
Very nice. A great catch!
You got a nice coin there Rick…it’s a keeper!
thanks guys.
I 100% must have one!
I’m in as well Tony. This is one privy that I like!
Craig and Tony@GA,
This is definitely a very classy privy mark, one that demands and deserves attention.
Reb, Kaiser and Tony, Tony@GA said in regards to a comment by Reb stating, “the Silver Proof Set has moved from an April 22 release date to an undated position at the end of the release schedule.” “Rumor on that delayed release is another infamous packaging error. Not anything to do with San Fran mint closing.” Amusing, as this brings to mind the packaging variation of the US Mints promotional coin boards(free) for the American Women’s Quarter series. I find it interesting that the US Mint initially had broken the coin boards into individual years for 2022-2024, and then instead… Read more »
The new board still hasn’t given us a definitive answer as to whether San Francisco will mint its full contingent of quarters. The 2025 slots could be filled with D or P coins.
CaliSkier, I have no idea as to how this little dual-style board adventure turned out for anybody else, but in my case it happened to result not only in some ludicrous irony but additionally ended up being a complete and total flop as a consequence of what turned out to be its total uselessness aka non-workability factor. Long story short, the initially released individual annual boards I had received from the Mint free of charge worked just fine when it came to inserting the appropriate AWQ Quarters; I had no problems with them whatsoever. On the other hand, in the… Read more »
Not sure how I feel about the placement of the Eagle Privy? Although it would have been tough due to its size/scale, I’d have preferred it were able to be placed similarly to the 2024 Star Privy, between the rim and Adolph Wienman’s initials.
Nice, I like it. I think the “Star” privy from last year was not placed in the most ideal location. The whole thing lacked balance and symmetry. It also looked kind of last minute. But the “Eagle” privy on this design looks to be done right – IMHO. So, the first 50K NGCs are the one’s to get? I am just curious, are all of the BU Silver Eagles for 2025 to include the Eagle privy? A roll might be better. How about the proofs? But again, it is a nice touch to the ASE providing it doesn’t grow spots.
Great perspective E1 and for the most part I agree with your assessment. Your thoughts brought on an elevated degree of scrutiny of my own. One thing I’ve thought about in the past with RCM privies, is that I prefer the privy to not visually distract, detract, or take away from the given coins original design when possible. With that being said, I pulled up images of the 2020 W V75 PF ASE coin in order to compare the three US Mint privy placements to date. From what you said about symmetry and although I usually prefer discreet, almost hidden… Read more »
I like E1’s balance and symmetry observation. However, I’d fly the eagle a little higher into the empty field. It’s crammed too close to “In Gold We Trust”. As Cali suggested, placement where the V75 privy was located is the best presentation available, IMO.
SPOTS?!?!? You’re killing me, E1. We don’t need no stinkin’ spots to go along with the haze (though I would guess defects on uncs are less annoying than the same on shiny proofs).
REB,
Spots did my ASE registry set in and it is something to consider. The haze can be removed, but those growing calcium spots cannot be removed.
Yikes! What exactly is going on chemically/environmentally with the haze and the calcium spots? I’ll hang up and listen.
I have observed the problem years to be 2007-2016. But that coin shown is a 1996. The mint received congressional approval to outsource the silver planchets back in 2007. I also know that the RCM has had similar problems but took corrective measures. I will say, I have never seen this problem on a proof silver Kennedy Half. The mint may have corrected the problem, but there has been no conformation.
https://www.mint.ca/en/bullion/mintshield
E1, is the coin you pictured, one that had been part of your collection? That has to be the worst example of spotting and hazing by a long shot that I’ve ever had the displeasure of seeing! Talk about a buzz kill? Thanks for the Scorps’ videos. A couple of my favs, “The Zoo”‘and “There’s No One Like You”!
E1,
Yikes! Do you store these coins in your garage with high humidity and temperatures? I only ask because I keep mine in a climate control environment (my A/C) and have never seen anything like the image in your meme. I’m hoping most of your ASE’s are in better condition. That certainly sucks as a coin collector seeing as the 1996 is one of the least common dates pressed.
Craig,
I had lost 20 ASEs due to spots. All had been purchased Spotless from several different dealerships across the country already certified and then stored in my safe. I should probably reinspect the remaining coins that I still have. The problem years are 2007-2016. You can find many articles on the subject at the PCGS and NGC websites. This is why I collect Walkers now.
w/e 03/30/2025:
2025 AGE Proof 1 oz. 1486
2025 AGE Proof ½ oz. 641
2025 AGE Proof ¼ oz. 785
2025 AGE Proof 1/10 oz. 2384
2025 AGE Proof 4-coin set 1956
w/e 03/30/2025 variance from w/e 03/23/2025:
2025 AGE Proof 1 oz. 287
2025 AGE Proof ½ oz. 261
2025 AGE Proof ¼ oz. 399
2025 AGE Proof 1/10 oz. 1021
2025 AGE Proof 4-coin set 626
Still slow. What do the two-week numbers look like vs. 2024? Are they gaining or losing ground?
Reb,
To answer your question…
Two week of sales in 2024 ending in w/e 05/12/2024:
2024 AGE Proof 1 oz. 1955
2024 AGE Proof ½ oz. 1049
2024 AGE Proof ¼ oz. 3921
2024 AGE Proof 1/10 oz. 4885
2024 AGE Proof 4-coin set 3731
Currently, an increase in Gold Proof sales (2025) is not desirable. The launch week is the most critical period for Gold.
I should qualify the above statement, “The launch week for American Gold Eagle Proofs is the most critical”…
Thanks for the stats. I love comparing numbers. It looks like the 1/4 oz. is getting crushed vs. last year.
Holy smokes! Most of you have heard of or are familiar with the 2024 Lincoln Cent Extra “V” VDB coin out of Philly, right? Well some thought that could have been a nod to, now retired US Mint Director Ventris Gibson. The ante has been upped or “Trumped” if you will! It has been discovered that the newly released 2025 AWQ’s, with Rick’s wife’s ancestor, Juliette Gordon Low, has not one, not 2, not 3, but 6 small, extra T’s, along the thin flat rim, directly over each “T”/“t”, directly on the thin rim between the reeds and the top… Read more »
These mint GIMMICKS are just getting weirder and weirder. IMHO, they’re all way out of line. I find them all rather disgusting.
But then, maybe I’m the weird one.
Cali,
2023 Extra V?
Also, see if you can find a pic of the 2025 Juliette Gordon Low Extra “T.”
Finally, a little something for us in the cheap seats.
Thanks
Cali,
Yes E1 is correct about the ’23 Extra ”V”…
My wife’s ‘boss’ is the great, great nephew of Juliette Gordon Low…
As far as the ““T”/“t” 2025 Juliette Gordon Low “error” coins go?…
Happy April 1st…
Well that explains why I couldn’t find anything online today.
Cali, You A Very Bad Boy.
That deserves the “8-Micron Hole Award.”
Ha-ha
E 1,
You just reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry gets called a “very, very bad man” by a guy named Babu he inadvertently got deported back to Pakistan. Regardless, “You A Very Bad Boy” is an instant classic!
Kaiser,
Sometimes, WE ALL VERY BAD BOYS. A merry bunch of misfits that like coins.
Cheers
Well Rick/E1, good work! Wonder if my mistake on the 2023 VDB, may have unfortunately been the hole in my little story, that unfortunately tipped you off? Perhaps Rick there were just too many “T”’s vs the lone “V”? LOL Anyhow, you guys are good sports and I’m glad that at least I had your juices “Flowing” or “Hair” on end, about the next hot error coin to chase down. Happy April 1st, y’all. Attempting to add a little southern charm/flare, as it’s not uncommon here in NC.
Fortunately for you Cali, we like you.
Cheers
lol.
E1, you’re meme game is improving but be careful. Cali is a certified Meme Ninja.
REB,
Meme? No. That’s a Selfie.
[April Fools!]
I do like rare Cats though.
The day is over, but the humor persists. Two thumbs … er … paws up!
John Q in the previous thread said: “On point the 1902 Nationals are very neat, collecting these for years…” Have you been collecting, random, by date, state, red, blue, yellow or brown seal? When I attended the Worlds Fair of Money Show in Denver, back in 2017, a big highlight for me, was seeing all the old currency(BEP) and the artwork on the reverses, as well as $100,000 dollar bills. The US Mint gave this description: “BEP is showcasing its Billion Dollar Exhibit featuring more than $1 billion worth of rare antique currency, including sheets of $100,000 currency notes, Treasury… Read more »
“including sheets of $100,000 currency notes”
I had no idea such a thing existed. How many $100,000 bills were produced? They were never put into circulation, and they can’t be held privately.
Is this more April Foolery, Cali?
LOL Reb! C’mon, it’s not as if I’m the boy who cried wolf. Haha With the cat being out of the bag or the large predator E1 posted, jokes are over. “BEP displays its Billion Dollar Exhibit, which features more than one billion dollars of rare and antique currency, including sheets of $100,000 currency notes, Treasury Bonds, and Gold and Silver Certificates. Exhibition visitors will see 19th century Spider Press demonstrations, as well as BEP’s mutilated currency examination process.” I’m bummed as all the pictures I took at the 2017 Worlds Fair of Money(Denver), were lost, when changing from AT&T… Read more »
For any curious about Bureau of Engraving and Printing Historical Currency of high denominations you maybe were unaware of, see the link below.

Sounds like your dog ate your homework, Cali.
Only kidding. Wow, I would have loved to have seen both exhibits. A sheet of $100,000 bills? My mind would have exploded. I still wonder how many of these bills were printed. Are there any production numbers anywhere? Where’s that Red Book of currency when you need it?
Apparently 42,000, $100,000 bills were produced Reb. Checkout this link to an interview(6 min video) with a member of the US Currency Education Program(CEP) team or you can read the transcript. “The $100,000 Certificate” BTW: “The CEP is responsible for ensuring the integrity of and trust in the U.S. dollar by providing information and training resources to the public.”

Thanks for the link. It was informative, albeit with a “read your lines from a notecard” style delivery.
I also went to the 2017 ANA Show in Denver. I did it as a day trip, flying in and out on the same day. I think the $100,000 bills were only used for inter-bank transfers.
Nice pic. Is that you, VinnieC, doing the Vanna with the Wilsons?
Yeah. That is me and my hand.
Cali,
Great job on the April Fools prank post. Sadly enough, their shenanigans of late made it an all too real possibility!

While on the subject of privy marks, I’m sending out an S.O.S./numismatic Bat Signal to Rick (the Numismatic Batman).
Both 69 FHG privies went for $40,800 yesterday at SB’s auction. One sold in December for $26k and the other for $27k. A $14,800 gain & $13,800 gain in 3 1/2 months … not bad.
Time for all the “OLD LADIES” here to stay in the “PRIVY” Run Forrest Run>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> “YIKES” >>>>>>>>>
I purchased a 2025 eagle privy with Bullion Shark (MS69) today for a pre-sale at $79.00.
I saw those pre-sales on E-Bay. I think they are continuing the pre-sales discussion on the Juliette Gordon Low story comments.
