New circulating coin production figures through July 2012 were recently published by the United States Mint. Among the numbers were updated totals for America the Beautiful Quarters.
While new mintages by specific quarter design were not revealed, it did show increases in July with the minting of 83,000 quarters. That is the highest production figure for quarters of any month in 2012.
A sizable portion of that July figure, if not all, was for Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park Quarters that get released into circulation on Monday, August 27, 2012. They will also be sold then to collectors inside of U.S. Mint rolls and bags. Some of 83,000 could also possibly be for Denali National Park and Preserve Quarters that are expected out on November 5, 2012.
It looks like everyone will have to wait until September to discover where mintages stand for Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park Quarters, and likely later for Denali quarter mintages.
Preliminary mintages are known for the first three 2012-dated America the Beautiful Quarters, and finalized mintages for those produced in 2010 and 2011. The U.S. Mint states that the 2012 figures are preliminary as it reserves the right to go back and re-produce an older design for the current year.
Here are tables that offer the latest available figures.
